For anything outside of exhaust I prefer the one shown in the pic, that is what I use on all my engine's including the 3W 150.

Well stripped everything and cleaned all the glue and stuff of the engine and Reed plate. Now just have be patient until people get back from vacation to help me rebuild this motor. Need some special glue or sealant for the Reed plate so that I can reinstall the Reed plate and then put everything back together

How does that reed mount? Is laid in place and those three screws holds it there? If that is the case then you are done with the reed, I see no reason for any glue, adesive, or even sealant on it, the cover can be installed with any of the high temp RTV's such as I shown, and install the carb.

I wish that was true, if you look at the holder were three screws go along the outer edge you see the holder necked in about a 1/16 of an inch, that gap is all the way around. It is open to the crank case. Look at the two pictures I have put a toothpick in the open slot . That is the slot that needs to sealed so that air goes through the reeds. Never seen anything like this before. And yes you are correct when it gets there will be red RTV under the plate of the three screws and in the screw holes to prevent anything from coming lose over time.

Been doing a little more research and believe you are missing a couple things. You have the reed and a gasket but are missing the gasket cover plate. Here is a link that shows the reed carrier with the gasket, http://www.aircraftinternational.com/catalog/pl_parts_carb_blocks.htm scroll down to reed carriers.
And I believe there also should be a metal block that goes on the reed carrier like noted in the following pic. And the pic of the reed carrier is a little better view than on AI's site.

I believe you have solved my problem. Looking fearfully at the picture you have shown it looks like the Reed holder comes with a moulded rubber gasket on it. So all I need to do is get that part from 3W and and mount the reeds to it and then rebuild the engine and it will be ready to fly agin thanks for that I really appreciate that.

I’ve been out of the hobby for about 30 years. Decided to get back in. Man things have sure changed. Bought this little ARF. Have most of the control surfaces done. Bought a Futaba 18SZ. it’s taken me a bit to figure that out. Have been flying “Real Flight 8” on my computer for a while feels like some of its back. Have been buying some plans to start some building projects.
Really like this site. Have been looking into what you guys are building. Really inspirational...!
