Well the Valiant engine is mounted and the starter system is in functional. Now the plane is going back to the owner to install the cowl and floats and be balance. Once that is installed it will come back to me for the radio install and final setup and then it will be ready for a test flight.

Nothing new. You probably know :sneaky:. Involves adjusting the regulator a tad to achieve best idle and transition. As a matter of fact that is the only way (regulator/pump) to adjust the DZ series engines. The air bleed is "fixed" no needle to adjust. Note the hole only in the throttle barrel of the 140DZ. The only difference is on the DZ series you turn the regulator/pump clockwise to richen. On the older FZ the regulator gets turned counter clockwise to richen. Mainly did this for high nitro (30%) use.

Now that's what I call a "REAL" engine. . . . . . . :yesss:, but you better stop showing pictures like this on GSN or some glow haters may un-friend you. . . . . . . :laughing:. Speaking of Dingo's, I have a 170 sitting here and I am seriously considering putting it in a 30cc AJ Laser. If I can get past the ground clearance issue, I may give it a try. I think the engine will pull the crap out of the plane. . . . . :big_yes:.

About the same as always, complaining about everything I can, especially the weather and weather guessers/forecasters. I want to go flying!
I have all day open tomorrow and it's only supposed to be 82, but the damn wind looks bad.:mad:

I primed the spots on my cowl and cuff last night before I went home. This afternoon I sanded the primer with 400 grit wet, and then used a wet gray scotchbrite pad and some sanding solution to scuff up everything else for the clear to stick. Sanding solution is kind of a gritty soap you use with a scotchbrite to clean and scuff the areas you just clear coating. You can see the difference in sheen in the last two pics. I was planning on painting today, but got lazy.

Wow...nice engine. That ought to haul that plane around quite nicely.
