I installed my J&J tailwheel on my Hangar 9 Extra 300X yesterday. I'll probably change the springs sooner or later. The ones that were on it were too short, and these were all I had laying around.
One of the reasons I wanted to change the tailwheel is the tail seemed really bouncy when taxiing lately. It turns out the Hangar 9 carbon fiber spring was broken and delaminating.

I have run both J&J tail wheels the carbon and the wire one, I prefer the wire one it is robust and I have never had a problem with and I have had the odd hard landing. Also have the carbon one from them and it is also standing up but from other companies I have had the carbon delaminate, for that reason I think I will stick with J&J stuff will and use the wire one.

That is lot of money for a radio. I sure it is well built any everything else but 2 to 3 times the cost of good radio that most of use is asking a lot. Reading through the specifications I can’t see what it has extra that justifies the cost.

It is indeed right? crazy-sign-smiley-emoticon.gif I personally can not see anything more elaborate or appealing than my simple $1000.00 MZ32. I am pleased enough with the Graupner I am now in the process of ordering seven receivers to start swapping out the Aurora 9x. I dunno...I think if you are going to spend that much, get a Futaba for 3k. Doah!!

Woah...dude. Beautiful. Really! So regarding the springs... I tried and I tried and I tired until I was so freaking furious to keep springs just right on my planes. Baby ate springs like they were going out of style. The Sukhoi simply would not turn correctly. And the Behemoth Yak? Yeah, not happening. I changed over to the nitro fuel tubing and zip tie method. Have not had one single issue. No matter if it is my Pilot Edge at 29 pounds or the Behemoth Yak at 53ish (fuel tank full), they all perform and steer beautifully. Don't think I will ever go back to springs, (if I can help it) again.

That's what I'll do this winter. I had all the stuff out to do it that night, but got really lazy and stuck the springs on there.
