Looks SWEET!!!! Cant really help you on the radio choice. Where I love the reliability of Futaba, prices are getting up there. Graupner seems to have a good thing going for them with the MZ32 (price and features... it's the best IMHO, plus they seem to be listening to their customers)
1 - MZ32
2 - 16SZ/18SZ
3 - Horus X10S/X12S
4 - Spectrum 12iX
5 - Jeti DS16

Thanks for the reply. I am a JR guy but they are no more. Been following the Stang with his new MZ 32 but he has not said much lately but most times if people are happy with something they often do not say much. Took a long look at the 12ix and I am not crazy about it was hoping it was ok because of all the receivers I own that would work with it. The three that are on the short list is MZ32, 18SZ and the Jeti DS16 but the seller of the DS16 just bugs me, but I think it is one of the best radio links out there just my opinion.

Well I have decided to build kit I bought a little while back, and why I bought it was for three reasons first made in USA, second it is an old fashion kit and it is something different. Wish it was a little bigger but it is what it is. Sure you guys can guess what it is from the picture of just unpacked. Yes made in Oregon

There is a JR dealer called DeForce I believe. I have a 6ch specky just to have for the BNF planes out there.
I think we all agree about the seller, which is just hard to ignore, but Jeti does make a good product although they are indeed expensive. I know youre a winter flier so one thing to keep in mind is that billet aluminum case will be COLD.
The Futaba 16SZ and 18SZ a basically the same radio. I like the black 16SZ, but I also like the LiFe battery in the 18SZ, you can reprogram and add the same battery the 18SZ has into the 16SZ although they are expensive and the cost isn't that much different in the end. The MZ32 has all the bells and whistles as a futaba radio in my opinion, it costs about the same, and they appear to be strong in the RC market. Receivers are competitively priced and the telemetry sensors are cheaper I think. They are clear about what resolution they are whereas Futaba is not. I believe the resolution and features are what sell the radio. I wish I could feel the radio and see what I think. I loved my 8FG Super, because it fit like a glove the 18SZ is heavier and a little bigger. the MZ32 seems ergonomic.

Really nice Snoops...REALLY NICE. I like. I was wondering how it was going to come out. I love the scheme. One of my most favorite colors here lately.

Ok, so I am saying something now. LOL. At first I was jacked about the radio. Guess because it was new and all. Then I was a little disheartened. Primarily because I didn't understand its capabilities. I will say now that the more I learn it, the more I like it. As with all things we must learn, it takes time to really "get it", ya know? Graupner says, "If you can think it, the MZ32 can do it." I am finding this to be a true statement. I am also really liking the GR-32L 16 channel receiver. There is so much to this thing it is mind boggling. Who ever heard of 6 power connections on a rec? Wow.
FEATURES
  • Up to 75 channel hopping for extreme operating reliability and immunity to external interference
  • Broad voltage ranges of 3.6 V - 8.4 V (functional to 2.5 V) ensures safe operation even during voltage fluctuation
  • Two LEDs to show operating status
  • Six power connections
  • Wireless setup and access technology
  • Increased receiver input sensitivity providing a vertical range of up to 5000 meters
  • Easy, front access servo connections
  • Fail-safe, hold, OFF and standard programmable directly from radio or receiver (channel 1: fail-safe; all others: hold)
  • Programmable warning thresholds for low voltage, low or high temperatures
  • Real-time wireless flight data recording
  • Ultra-fast re-binding with HoTT radio
  • Digital (SUMD, SUMO, SUMI) signal at input or output connector for flight controllers like V-Stabi, Microbeast, Naze, et al
  • SUM signal at input or output connector for flight controllers like V-Stabi, Microbeast, Naze, et al
  • Selectable frame rates between 10ms to 20ms
  • Compact and lightweight
As for the transmitter, the possibilities are endless. After flying it in the new 330, I am so completely sold on it that it will definitely be going into the Behemoth Stang. I wanted to wait before I started changing out all my planes to it. The Hitec Aurora has been so rock solid, I just had such a hard time parting with it. I will keep it for the smaller Glow, (shudder) plane and my lesser expensive models. Not that I feel it is not trustworthy. On the contrary. Just that I "WANT" all the features the Grupner MZ32 can offer on my more elaborate models. The Aurora just doesn't have the same abilities. I wish it did.

I am all about safety first. Not only of my aircraft but bystanders and property as well. I would never ever dare try anything I didn't feel I could completely 100% trust and believe in. The biggest reason I quit flying the Sukhoi, until I find the issue with it. However, I do trust and believe in the Gruapner.

Thanks Stang after that I am going to find out if my LHS sells the radio and if I can hold it.
