It is nice to see 2 LX's in the trailer. Now that I have started the equipment install, I am hoping to have this one in the air this weekend, barring any complications. DLE-170, ProFlow canisters, Savox 1283's on ailerons and Hitec 7950's on rudder and elevators. Jeti CB200 with remote switch. I am going to do some bench testing of the 1283's on straight 2s lipo power based on a conversation I had with Savox USA that ANY of their servos can handle the full 2s voltage with no issues at all. I know the 7950's can handle it but, want to test the 1283's before eliminating the regulators in the new plane.

I'm sure it's a nice charger. For me I'd be maxing it out parallel charging 2 6S 5000's. But if you don't need over 20 amps, it would be great.

Hi Jetpainter. This is adout carbon in the exhaust. Hi have some interesting observations. As you know rebuilding a Decathlon with a 3W engine. This engine has several hundred hours of running over the years. Have cleaned and refurbished several times over the years. But what is interesting is that when I first got the engine it was run on 3W synthetic oil and then for a number of years on Klotz synthetic oil and for the last 3 years red line oil. What I have observed is the following. With 3W oil had a little of carbon build up on the piston, head and in the exhaust. This was very much the same for the Klotz oil. But with the red line the engine was absolutely clean the head and the piston but the exhaust it was loaded with carbon it took hours to clean out, thankfully with this exhaust it is possible to clean it with scrapper and screwdriver. Have you noticed the same thing.

I run RedLine, but since this canister was used when I got it 4 years ago I have no idea what was used in it before. But I can say that the DA50 that was in the plane the can came with was pretty nasty inside when I got it, but after running RedLine through it it got a lot cleaner and all that crap has to go somewhere.

Put my new horizontal and elevators on, added an extra hinge on the outboard side to help with the vibration. Instead of glueing in the rlevator joiners and cutting them off, I inserted balsa, and covered with some scrap monocote. My only roadblock now is control horns. I was making some out of phenolic board but am starting to think they will be too soft? I'll probably order some G10 board, or a carbon sheet. Anybody have some better ideas? 3DHS doesn't have any replacement horns in stock.

Composite ARF uses Phenolic for what ever that's worth.

Good to know thanks! Looks like they just backed up the bolts and rod ends with washers. Not a bad idea for "softer" material especially.
