Ok, I will cave. There are days during the early morning hours of summer, when some of the glow guys come out to fly that I actually wait for the reeeeen reeeeen reeeeen..... of the two stroke glow motors. Or the putt-putt-putt of the four stroke nitro misers. With a hot cup of coffee in hand, I will put my nose to the direction of the running nitro motors and take in a deep breath. Yes, I do sometimes miss the smell and the awesomeness of my Hemi Head Saitos. I just can't justify the cost of the fuel. Not to mention the cost of cleaning supplies to clean up said glow mess. I kid Kelly a lot cuz he's like a brother to me. The brother from a different mother. But truth be known, If I had a lifetime supply of YS/Saito blend nitro fuel, I would still own at least one ground thumpin', tree shakin' prop blasting Saito.

For me it's a screaming piped .61 on a classic pattern ship.

I still have my share Of glow engines that will just not die, but I will tell you that I will put my YS120 with20 %'nitro up, against any 20cc gas engine. But as time goes by it will all be gas.

I don't fly a YS often but when I do I prefer a piped 60 short stroke in a wheels up classic pattern plane flying inverted 5' over the runway at 120 mph.

I have had my share of Saito engines too......The 56, 65, 80GK, 91, 125 and 180 as singles and the 100, 130, 300TTDP as twins. Even had the herculean 450R but never flew it on anything. Just loved to hear it run .

But man! If I got all the money back from over the years I have spent just on glow engines.......... I could have a few Moki radials and would be flying war birds .

Like you Kelly, I have had just about every four stroke Saito ever built. The only one I had that I was displeased with was my early version glow radial. I could not keep one cylinder lit. It just would not continue to run. Later on they fixed it. The one I REALLY wanted and would give almost anything...(no dubs included here) to get my grimy mitts on would be one of only six every produced. And only one truly operating prototype that stayed perched on Gen Saito's desk. The flat six cylinder. Dang....I would love to have that one.

Well got one 1/2 spacer made that took some work but it fits and gets me the clearance needed to clear the motor box. I was not prepared to cut the box and weaken it after all the work of cutting the one off and putting a new one on. The worst thing is that I need to make a second one, but needs to be done.

Nicely done. BTW, those of you that run canisters, do you put screws in to keep them on? I can heat the plastic piece, put the clamp on and still comes loose. I put a screw in one of my DA 120 cans and now I think I am going to do the same with a proflow can. What is the best way?
