That is one hell of a collection you must be proud of that. If I may ask of all the planes you have there if we’re only allowed to keep one which one would it be and why.

Thank you. But that is not all of them. I still have a Red Bull Edge still in the box. I think I might build it. Also have the big 330 in the covering stage. Dang, that bird is nearly as big as my Behemoth Yak. LOL....Oh and my little Twisted Hobbies foamy....my gasserized trainer....umm....too many planes. LOL

If I could only keep one? Which one would it be? I can not pick just one. Baby (260) has been my "go to" plane for so long. She is predictable, she is gentle, she is agile and graceful and can huck with all the best 'frames these days. The Sukhoi is an absolute precision machine. Straightest lines ever seen. And a true power house. The Pilot Edge is wicked fun. The SD Baby Yak is just a kick in the pants to fly. The Behemoth Yak is...well it is four red cylinders of total bad ass pleasure. Also graceful and gentle. Agile and extremely capable of doing the best of hucking. How can you pick just one? Ugh.... Please, don't ask me to.

If I could only keep just one, It would be the Behemoth Yak.

Well one half of the stab is built the one picture is showing the frame work inside and connection to the sleeve and the second picture is sheeting off the stab with weights on waiting for it dry, now on to the other one.

The reason I asked was that I have seen it a few times is that people build the big planes with big four cylinder engines and always show up at the field with a 50 or 60cc planes and may see the big plane once or twice a year..
There is one gentleman at our club that builds huge planes he also has one of those I thinks 220 Valosh four strokes and in the two years I have never seen him fly it he always come to the field with small foamy, I don’t get it.

Need some advice have a DA50 and love the engine does everything I need it to do. At present building a bashed 50cc profile. I see a few DA60 for sale never owned one so my question is how much difference is there between the two engines. I did look up the engine and the DA60 is 3oz heavier and obviously a little bigger. But my main concern is it a lot rougher and will it tear the plane apart or are the two engines very similar and just got some extra power.

Snoop....for what it is worth, I hope it helps. The DA 50 is a good running little engine. Quite capable of doing that build you are doing prime justice. They run fairly similar to a DLE 55. They are actually fairly smooth and have plenty of power to swing a good size stick. The DA 60 on the other hand is a total beast. It has tons of grunt and can swing a slightly larger prop. But the thing I hate about them is they shake. OH my god, the earth monitoring devices are constantly in a frenzy when a DA 60 is fired up. I have seen many of them running and my buddy Tom has one on a Pilot Yak. Needless to say, he constantly screwing back in loose screws, gluing hinges back into place, putting back things that keep falling off the plane. I know for a fact it is not the plane. My son has the exact same airframe. (different scheme) His has a DLE 55 on it. His still has all its pieces in place. LOL

Oh yeah...I totally get it. I myself also do not understand why people do that. Me on the other hand....they "ALL" get flown. Baby has in excess of 450 flights, the Sukhoi is well over a hundred now. The Pilot Edge is pushing 40? I think? The Behemoth Yak is only 11. But most of these planes are new as of last year and have not had the chance to be to the field. Trust and believe, that big Yak is going to see "LOTS" of air time this year. LOL

Thank you for that it is exactly what I was looking for I need to buy an engine for the contraption I am building but did not know exactly what to do buy another 50 or go for a 60 just to have something different. The plane that is being built right now is being built right down to the dear minimum. No extra wood or glue anywhere so the last thing I need is monster that will shake it apart. Thanks for that.

I haven't done any airplane work in the shop lately since all of my airplanes are ready for flying season, and I don't have all the parts I need to start on new projects. So, basically I've been bored, so I decided to work on some plastic models I've got laying around.

I decided to build a 67 Hemi GTX kit, but first I needed to give a Model A Pickup that I built several years ago some attention.

The first picture is what happens when you leave one sitting around your workshop for a few years.

It's not airplanes, but it beats sitting around watching the tube.
