Thanks. This was actually my mustang from high school that I sold 30± years ago and recently bought back. It is worse for wear. Restomod is probably more accurate. 302 with RV cam, plenty of torque, but it won't breath as this is my son's car. T5 tranny (converting from auto to manual - less opportunity to drive and text ;)). Updated modern front suspension with adjustable coil overs. 4 wheel disk. Have to swap out the rear end anyway as this was originally a six cylinder (170 not 200, unbeknownst to me when I had it) so I would rather buy disk than drum. Not sure on the wheel styling yet, but sizewise thinking 17x7 front and 17x8 rear. Will include A/C as well. My son is teetering between a midnight blue or gun metal grey. Plenty of time to make those decisions as he will only be 14 in October. Trying to push through all the body work as it is difficult to keep kids engaged. Installing mechanical equipment is much more fun!

That is so cool it was your old car back in the day. I had a friend with a 69 auto fastback that said you'd think it would be a chick magnet, but was actually an old guy magnet... "I used to have one just like her! Cant believe I sold her..." HA HA
After all that hard work, pick a nice paint scheme! GunMetal Gray with a light blue strip on the door panels with a black boarder or accent stripe would look pretty neat. Lots of clear coat of coarse ha ha - way cool buddy

Never heard of a RV cam before so had to look it up. Should still perform well and still have a decent lope to it when at idle. Like the idea with the front suspension and is the way I would go as well. T5 is a tough little tranny and with a good short throw shifter on it the shift slick as glass unlike the Tremec TKO500 I had in my 89 coupe. Tough as hell and never a problem getting it into gear even when power shifting just never had a smooth feel to it. four wheel disc is perfect. While I do really like the restomod look on the older mustangs I'm a sucker for a good ole set of Magnum 500's when it comes to wheels. There is a company my dad got modern 17x8 and 17x10 magnum 500's for the 04 Mach 1 they used to have that looked just as good but bigger and made of billet aluminum. Keep up posted of the progress.
I too like the Magnum look. Will have to look into that a bit deeper. When diverging from stock, the choices are a bit overwhelming. I have to keep reminding myself this is my son’s car and “that will be good enough.” Fortunately my dad is very pragmatic and after running a trucking business forever, he tends to be a bit more on the good enough side... I still have tendencies to build pianos so the debate begins.....hahaha

Thanks! I really like the gun metal grey, especially when you accent some of the features with a bit darker hue. Looks pretty amazing. Too funny on the old guy magnet, but all too true! LoL

This morning I go and check those two LiPo's, they dropped a little more than normal. So after a few minute's of pondering I decided to take my own advice and not risk it, went and picked up two new one's. Soldered the proper ends on, charged them up, and put them in the Ultimate. Ready to go again tomorrow morning.

Always better safe than sorry. Any time I have a battery I'm not sure about, I torture test it in one of my wife's R/C cars. No harm at all if it dumps.

So after a morning of flying, once home, I gave the trailer a good cleaning. Then I though it might be cool to fly off the water at Nall, never flown from water before, so I took the wheels off the Tundra and installed the floats. Other than loading up all the needed supplies I think I am done prepping and actually ready.. Woo Hoo!!

You'll love floats! When the planes get bigger, you begin to feel water tension more, and can have fun step taxing. The smaller planes take off and land much like a puddle duck. Plop on and rocket off. You'll enjoy lining up on a flat surface to land and just easing the plane down onto it. There is nothing like flying off water when it's dead flat calm. It's so peaceful and you'll find your mind drifting into a place of Zen. So much fun. There is a whole new side of model aviation with float builders/fliers.

What did I do? Not enough!!! Need more shop time!!!!

One plane being built, one with a vaporized bullet connector, another with CG rearrangement shinnanigins. Plus I’ve got another with a busted cowl, and one with a busted prop. Ha ha. I guess this means I’ve been flying??
