A couple of months ago, I had a few bucks laying around and well, like any of us in this twisted and sick hobby...I just had to spend it. LOL. I had been scouting around the YouTube channel and ran across a video or two of this particular item. "Hey, that is really cool" says me. I gotta get one. And get one I did.

Well what ever shall I do with this beauty? Oh hey, I know.... How about.... a P40? Oh that is a good idea. But first, lets start that puppy up. Oh man, she is sweet sounding for a little twin. I was so amazed at how great it ran, I just couldn't wait to get her airframe on its way. Truth be known, I actually snagged a couple of airframes. The second one I will start a thread on later. I think it will be kind of cool. And a great addition to the Epley fighter squadron. But for now, we will focus on this one and the Behemoth Stang.

I wanted an ARF as I really did not want to take too much time away from the big Mustang build. Unfortunately, the ARF I acquired has a small issue and besides, I really wanted to attempt a "Glass and Paint" project before I attack the big DS Mustang. Sooo...that said....take a look at this beauty fellas.

This will be a superb test bed for all that my son and I are learning about the glassing and painting process everyone else is doing. My son is going to be the one to attempt it first on his little 60 size Top Flite P40. I hope both of us learn a great deal before getting into the big P40, The Behemoth Stang and of course my sons Monsters he has slated. A Jerry Bates 96" P40, A Top Flite Giant Scale 60cc Mustang and countless others. Neither of us has glassed and painted before. But hey, might as well go for it right?

If anyone has suggestions for newbies like us to this new venture in our great hobby, please don't hesitate chiming in.

Anyway fellas...that is the "X" project mentioned in the DS Mustang build this evening. I am actually really looking forward to this challenge. She (the P40) should be a great addition to the Epley hangar.

I really havn't decided on a scheme yet. Suggestions fellas?????

Normally, I wouldn’t suggest leaving this fine site. However, in this case, I’ve been following several threads on RCSB, and this one might answer your questions on glassing...

As far as a paint scheme for a P-40, I have just the ticket...

This is actually ready to cover, RTC. The freaking thing is gorgeous. Am I misunderstanding the alphabet soup letters? Lol

Where did you get a Top Flight RTC P40?

Hey Brother,

Welcome to the P-40 Lovers Society. . . . .. That Roto will be awesome in the TF plane. I have to second @WMcNabb post about you and Shane going to RCSB. I'm not knocking anybody here, but the knowledge base over there is INCREDIBLE. . . . . :yesss:. To be honest, I spend as much time over there, as I do here.

I picked up from Tower. I have a brand new ARF P40 just like this. Was going to put the Roto on it. But, well I want my own scheme and I wanted to paint it, so I picked up the RTC for this project. Coincidentally, the brand new ARF is for sale or trade. Because I got it fairly cheap, I thought I might ask around $350 or trade for a new DLE 35RA for the not yet disclosed other project I mentioned earlier. Any takers?
