Resurrection U Can Do 60 Repair

Built a hinge drill guide for drilling the hinges in. I've learned the hard way not to try and freehand it.

Well, went to our annual Salmon Idaho fun fly, over Memorial weekend and after a couple of flights on the UCD, I noticed that one of the elevators had an issue. Once I got it home I decided to build a new stab and elevators for it. I think the stock material is just too thin for the Robart hinges.

Drew out some plans and got to work. I found that the leading edge on the stock horizontal stab was laminated with pine spruce in the middle. It's also tapered and recessed into the square stock. I didn't want the headache, so I just made a template and cut a piece of 1/8" lite ply, then laminated two pieces of 1/8" balsa on top and bottom.
