It became obvious in short order that the hole on the backside of the fairing was going to be a problem, matter of fact I broke out the second hole while drilling. A second pair with Kevlar reinforcement was laid up, Kevlar is amazing, can't say here what it reminds me of. It is a pain to work with, yoy drill a hole through it and end up with a hole filled with fuss, try to sand it and make more fuss. Hardening the fuss with CA or epoxy does help.

I have been hauling the fuselage around in the back of my van since last month's IFC club meeting. Out of work on the wings so it's back on the bench, laid out the wing tube hole today. I was hoping the new wing tube will be here today but the USPS seems to have taken a liking to it. Left St Louis on the 14th and still traveling to next destination! Need to mount the wings before moving forward.

Started thinking about the dash. Found a nice outline drawing online of the dash and had Staples increase the size to the proper scale. The dash salvaged from the original Cherokee isn't deep enough to accommodate the yokes so it looks a new dash is needed. Thinking I will cut the dash panel shape from left over foam, cover 1/16" balsa with Naugahyde rolled over the overhang above the dash before vacuum bagging the balsa in place. I forgot how nice the original dash finish off. It's a work in progress.

The remote switch and 10 meters of servo wire arrived yesterday. Let's see, a new color combination to figure out, Futaba red, black, white. JR, red, brown, yellow. Hitec, red, black, yellow. Power Box, red, blue, white. And now AR, could use Black hot, white neutral (Ground) green signal? No that doesn't make sense, black negative, white signal, that leaves green positive. Not good either. Any thoughts?

Green Positive, Black Negative and White Signal is the way I'd go. It's basically the Futaba pattern except substituting the red for green. IMO, that's the only pattern that makes any kind of sense at all.

The new wing tube arrived, it measures 1.126", it fits so I'm happy, snug fit. Laid up the fuselage socket on it, should start to fit the socket tomorrow. Maybe prebend the balsa for the dash as well.
