Well wanted to start covering one of my planes and found that I needed to buy some Ultracote. It is becoming harder to find and had to drive to a hobby store 3 hours away. Any way managed to get what I needed so if it rains tomorrow I have something to do. Boy the stuff is getting expensive.

Thanks to @TonyHallo, a tube of plans arrived via the postman today!

Inside were 5 sheets worth of a 21% or 2m Beechcraft Staggerwing, plus another sheet of retractable landing gear. Super cool!

Wade,
I'll get the other set ready and let you know. What do you think of the gear? I thought about building it just or the gear but decided there are way too many parts!!!

Tony,
Thanks for doing this! Please take your time, absolutely no rush at all.

To answer your question, I think this is a genius mechanical design and definitely scale appearing. However very complicated compared to the Robart gear for the Top Flite Staggerwing!!

TonyHallo

The Robart gear was not so good from my experience, the trunion is made out of aluminum and must be a very low alloy. My the slot opened up after a few landings, I bet I had less than 25 flights on mine before I cart wheeled on a grass runway during a take off. To add insult to injury,in was at a fun fly had an announcer and introduced the pilots and talked while we flew one at a time. In my case I had worked with the fellow some 30 years before. That's when I gave up on mine.
Mine was very tail heavy with the retractable tailwheel and the metal push rods provided, changed the push rod to carbon units from CST. Had a Valley View 40 twin, nice power.
A photo of the drawing title block is attached. The mailing tube weights 46 ounces, 42" long and 3 1/4" diameter.Let me know how you would to proceed.

Thanks for the guidance. Sounds like the brand new Robart landing gear will be for sale now. I’m liking the idea of a floatplane! Don’t remember where I found this photo but supposedly was Kenmore Air back in the day! Photographer unknown.

I like the look of the twin cylinder and the exhaust placement. I’ll bet it sounded nice too!

Regarding the plans, seems the shipping cost will be the same, so let me know the total and I’ll send via PayPal. Ironically, the scale source listed on the plan is the one I mentioned previously.

Sometimes a sale comes along when you don’t really need something but buy it just in case??!!! Shipping was probably more expensive than the pinked tapes.
