Xpress builds a 115 AJ Laser - PICTURE HEAVY!

Installed the Multiplex Wingstabi 16ch gyro/rx last night and installed the aileron harnesses into the fuselage. I might end up moving these elsewhere, just depends on how I'm feeling.

The Wingstabi has all gyro functions disabled, I played with them in the past and still prefer a pure airplane experience.

Well I'm stuffing in an engine that's more powerful than a DA200 so I'd say likely so!

Being I'm no longer a "Purist" or if that I really ever was (lol) could you try to get that wingstabi dialed up for just some fun? I have seen these units hover and torque roll a plane hands off completely! Yea I know....but at my age I need all the "fun" help I can get these days . Not only am "I CHEAP" but "I CHEAT" too .

That's the 105 Laser that needs a 120CC. The 115 Laser is a 40% airplane and needs a 150CC minimum. The 115 shares the exact same fuselage as the 123" Laser which requires a 200CC 4 cylinder, so anything between 150-222cc aught to work real well. The ZDZ180 is the most powerful engine in all of those ranges so I don't think I'll be lacking on power

Made my own custom linkages for the rudder servos last night, and programmed the rudder servos to be in sync with each other. These servos are incredibly linear, looking forward to hammering these real hard!!

After evaluating the time I have left to get this bird flying the weekend before June 9-10 (1st huckfest of the year), it was decided that I had to cut and clearance the cowl for the JMB keg mufflers I have for the ZDZ180. Originally I was going to go with canisters but I'm just out of time now.

Realistically I still have 1.5 weeks worth of final assembly and adjustments to make before I can fly the airplane, plus the weekend of Memorial Day I am out to New Mexico to visit the girlfriends parents. Gives me 1, maybe 2 weekends to give the airplane a shakedown and make any adjustments necessary before it's time to throw down

Still on the list:

-Setup wings and stabs
-Install throttle/choke servos
-Run final wiring
-CG the beast, then install flight packs
-Plumb the tank and engine
-?????
-?????
-Fly it!

Nice looking plane AJ does build nice stuff will be picking up some from him at JoeNall. One equitation with an engine that large you can pass the noise restrictions on just muffler on the heads..?

There's no noise restrictions where we fly. I'm not heavy on the throttle anyways.
