Scale 50% Dalotel 165

I decided to change the elevator setup, with the two servos up front going to a pushrod, then a belcrank then to the elevator, I found there was too much slop in it, so now one push rod, no belcrank and the servos are now behind the rear seat out of view. and a picture of the operating table, scalpel please LOL

What are you using for a bushing/bearing in the connection point between the servo arms and the (for lack of a better term) aluminum collector that connects to the elevator pushrod?

Good question, its a work in progress, the first thing was to make sure all the geometry was correct, which it is now I will make the servo arm out of aluminim and will be using oilite brass for bushings in all moving parts.

Sorry for the detailed questions. Are you planning to tap the servo arm and then double nut the screw to set the clearance between the bushing and the servo arm?

No worries, the more questions you guys ask, the more it keeps me on my toes. So yes to your question, escept that it will not be double nut for clearance since I made this as part of the screw bushing in brass. Nearly finished two servo arms all tapped to 3 mm
The only thing left to do is to cut a slit across to the other two 3 mm screws can tighten on the servo output once I have made the spline. will post pictures probably tomorow

Do you have a broach to make your own splines in the servo arm? If so, where did you get it (if you don't mind sharing)? If not, how are you making the splines?

Its quite simple actually, I drill a hole the proper dept, but slightly smaller then the spline, then I press fit the proper spline from a donor servo. which being hard steel, into aluminum it goes in then I pull it off, and with the slit along , it goes on the servo , then tighten both screws on either side of the spline to tighten it solid, I will post pictures tomorow
