Sport Bud Nosen (!!!) 1/4 Scale Citabria Build! Woo hoo!

Curious, was there ever a full size clipped wing Citabria? Because if there wasn't I don't see why anyone would want to build it that way. I will probably be building this model from plans I just ordered and will most definitely build it as designed. I just won a DLE 30 at my old RC club's fun fly that I will power it with.

Because a clip wing would be more aerobatic.

Other fuselage side is done. Time to sand both sides flat, add a little glue here and there, and then get to work joining them to make a fuselage.

Ummm….. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you built two sides exactly the same way. Are they left sides or right sides?

Fuselage progress continues, it's done being pinned to the bench and now we add the bits and pieces that will give it that funky Citabria outline. I may stop working on the fuselage to get the wings going. It isn't likely the wings will be built to the plans. More likely is a clipped wing, little to no dihedral, and one piece like a Sig Clipped Wing Cub. Not sure yet how I'll do that but I've got to work on the changes now because there will be some stuff in the fuselage that will have to change to make it work.

The landing gear is from an old Cap 232 ARF that I got in an estate package I bought maybe eight years ago? It is going to look so much better than the too wide dural style gear that came with the kit. Citabrias have skinny spring gear legs!

Absolutely love it. Really nice craftsmanship.

I have one of these another fellow built. I would not say it is light by any means. It flies real nice with a quadra 35 on it, and it has lead in the nose to balance it out, but I imagine from seeing your work s far you will figure out what yours wants to fly nice.

Looks awesome so far....

Well..... I'm pulling the fire extinguisher out of the basement now. Fires out and the ONJ record is skipping the needle :concern:.

Not calling the kettle here Bart....I have not got hardly anything built or done either. Got just about everything I need for the 330 but my sail has fowled. Bet the real one has you tied in knots.
