Yes, the Japanese pull saws are a great tool. That hole was for the carb on the Syssa 30, as well as the triangular hole pattern.

I used a Japanese saw to cut it off, then added the new firewall with epoxy, tri-stock, and servo screws each with a drop of Gorilla glue.

Daren, I shortened the engine box on your 78 by about an inch.

Looks great, I just wish I had known about this engine when I sold the 78 to Darren. After the Syssa, Hacker, and Mintor 38's, I just gave up on the "30cc" class.

They work great, but be sure to clean the Ti part with alcohol and use a toothpick to wet the inside of the cf tube with epoxy as well as the Ti insert.

The 7955's were totally inadequate for the ailerons on the 91 EF Extra, not even close. I replaced them with Savox 2270HV brushless and it was like a new plane. On the rudder, I use a single Futaba BLS-157HV. That servo is great, for even the 104 AJS rudder, with a DA-120 pulling it very hard...

Yea, I am thinking the DA-60 is kinda wimpy on the 91.

When you get bored (or deaf) with the stock muffler! With the Bowman ring I would think with a couple of gallons through it should be ready for the pipe.

Matt's 40cc twin is really very impressive.

    velox vs slick

I love the Velox, my only regret is they don't make a 60 or 120cc Velox.

    hs-7955

I have a couple of Hitec 7955TG's with SWB arms for sale. They were refreshed by Hitec this Winter and I was using them on my 91 EF Extra, about 30 flights on them since. They are just too small for the giant ailerons on the 91.

My stabs flew off in mid air, I recommend that you glue them in.

If the servos are good for it, you will see a big difference between 6.6v LiFe and 8.4V Lipo. In this case, the 7955's are way better on the Lipo, and with the Lipo's you can charge a 2200 in about 5 minutes at 5c, whereas with a Life, they will puff badly at much more than 1c. The only reason...

To drill composites, using a brad point drill bit will all but eliminate the fiber breakout on the back side. http://www.mcmaster.com/#brad-point-drill-bits/=mz7kyy
