Hey check it out, I gave this plane to a friend a few years ago. He's down-sizing and brought it back to me today!! This could be a perfect strip and redo plane to try solartex!! It's been damaged on the tail so it needs to be stripped and fixed properly anyway. Plus it's covered with china-cote.

I am curious what you to solartex prior to spraying paint if anything? Primer / sealer??

I just sold one of those! A friend gave it to me a few years ago and I never did anything with it, so I got rid of it to make room.

I have always primed Solartex, but you can just paint it if you want. Mattymatt did his 50% Challenger II with it without priming and it looks awesome.

SWEET! I've got a P47 on the table right now and once that's done I'm going to disrobe this badboy and try some solartex!!

I'm committed, ordered a new cowl and a 10m roll of solartex.
Cool, did you get the wheel pants with yours? They were missing on mine and weren't available at the time I looked.

One thing to look out for is that curtain rod they use for a wing tube. The guy I got mine from bent it on a rough landing. It was pretty flimsy.

Terry, did I see in one of your posts that you use Gorilla Glue CA? I was ordering some casters for a creeper seat for work from McMaster Carr and saw that they had it so I ordered some. In typical fashion I ordered the stuff on Monday at noon and it was here Tuesday at 11:00. Can't beat that!

I think terry has been using the titebond CA but I have used the gorilla glue medium ca. To me it and the titebond are pretty much the same and I have enjoyed using it. Kinda go back in forth between the two. All depends on which lowes is carrying when I need more.
