DA 120 with onboard Tach.

Mine is working ! Spun engine, plugs out, with a drill, 950 rpm, drill tested separately, 950 rpm , and works without the shunt in place but will solder one in for safetys sake.
Not using on board tach, spektrum t-1000 telemetry only. Is shunt required for the led tach only ?

@IMAC FANATIC You may want to. Muttdog did. He said he had issues with the tach but not Tm-1000 so much but it did give erratic readings every once in a while.

Now I gotta convince my mind that my fingers can solder something this small.

Ahh, Nuttin to it! use a 30 watt pencil tip iron and use 60/40 rosin core solder .032" diameter. Flux always and "tin" your wires. Rectorseal makes a good solder flux Called "Uniflux"

Well so far mine is working, bench tested only, and without the shunt, actually made a mistake and soldered the resistors inline, not as a shunt, and seems to work wonderfully, soon as I get my landing gear back ill test run the system and post results. Wondering if the rcexl has a shunt installed in the sensor already. Only get inconsistent reading when twisting prop hub by hand, with dewalt attached and plugs off and hanging, ignition on, got constant results from 10rpm to 950 .
