It's been cloudy for three days but it gets up into the low 50's during the day. When generally have very long Fall and very long Spring with not much in the way of Winter ;)

Had a little incident with my extra yesterday... I got a little to low on the down line of a rolling loop and caught a 15' high brush. The bush tore off my the counter balance and half of the left elevator and sent it straight to the ground. Broken cowl, a little former damage, and broken elevator.
The elevator was to splintered to glue back on, so I was lucky I had a old elevator that was broken at the joiner. I cleaned up the broken elevator half on plane and cut the elevator half down to what i needed. Joined up and recovered. Strong as new. All that I need to do now is paint a red cowl I have from my original red Extra. I also started a cowl repair on the damaged one to get a little practice. Worst case scenario I need to order a new cowl if the paint doesn't turn out.

Nice repair Bryan! Being able to fix little dings like that is what gives the confidence to go low!

Thanks guys... I was fortunate to have a elevator on hand or I would be out a plane until a new elevator game in.
