I got around to starting the servo install on the Pitts today. Really not a lot to include here as most servo installs are pretty straight forward. I also got the control horns epoxied into the rudder and measured the length of control rod I will need for it. Due to the angle of the photo, it doesn't appear I have the through bolt hole in alignment with the hinge line of the rudder. But honestly I do. LOL.

I do have a question regarding the servo arms for the Pitts. Originally, I planned to and ordered the same servo arms I have been using on all my bigger planes. But in all honesty, I really don't think I need the length of these. I still have the HD servo arms that came with all my '7950's and sized them up for comparison. At 1-1/4" vs. the 2" aluminums, they look to me to be a better application for this setup. What do you guys think? Maybe I should order some aluminum arms the correct length? I have used these arms on some of my previous 50cc sized planes and never had a failure. Since I don't plan to "huck" this Pitts...(well, not very much anyway-LOL).... I was kind of thinking they will work just fine. But would love some input from you guys on this subject.

I now have the two elevator servos and rudder servo bolted in place. I need to install the control horns on the elevators and the ailerons, then mount the aileron servos. The snow is melting almost as fast now as it originally came down. (Which makes me extremely happy) So it won't be too long before the weather is warm enough to fly. I really want to get this thing buttoned up in the next month so it is ready for maiden when it is warm enough and snow is gone from the runway at the field. Believe it or not, I actually heard a Robin singing a couple of days ago. I can't wait for the warm weather to finally push the winter cold out.

Don't count it out. As of yesterday, there was still a foot of snow on the runway and all areas of the field. If conditions were perfect....who knows? Hee hee

Rob, I have the HD arms like that on my Ultimate, neva an issue. I have ball link on one end, and clevis on the servo arm. If your plan is to drill that HD arm out to accept the ball link, I'd go aluminum, won't be much left if you drill that HD plastic. Aluminum will also look mo sexy, "BUT" don't let that hold up delivery of "MY" plane

Rob, I have used those without issues but for a couple bucks I would want peace of mind on the horizontal stab
and maybe use the stock arms an the ailerons. I call all of my bipes "turn and burn planes" Loops and rolls with smoke ON

Lengthwise the 1.25 will do you fine and you will have enough throw to do whatever style flying you want

I have used those arms on most of my 50cc planes never had a failure or problem. They are good arms.
