Here is mine. It's not pretty anymore, but it has taken me a lot of miles. I have put over 75,000 on this one.

My baby. Might not be the purtiest or shiniest bike out there, but it is well taken care of. This is my 'Go everywhere' adventure bike. Gone more places in the 15k miles I've owned it than I've gone in any vehicle.

I grew up on motorcross bike, went into crotch rockets, then into a Honda VTX-1800 that I customized and customized a VTX-1300 for my wife.

Mine is the orange one & hers is the red.

Bling, bling for flying things.
The Ironhead Sportster is a '72 (or depends on which part you're looking at). Rebuilt from the ground up. Every nut, bolt, spring and clip - since it was from the AMF years, that's in the rules. A few later model upgrades and modern touches. Still rides like a Sporty - OUCH! (If anyone ever tells you a Sportster is a girl's bike, they've never ridden one for over 300 miles in one day) Motor completely rebuilt by a master. Ticks like a fine watch. I call her the Sex Queen.

The Thumper is a 1981 Yamaha SR500. Many upgrades... CB500 bars, laced aluminum wheels, Weisco high-compression forged piston, SuperTrapp exhaust, Tsubaki O-ring chain and more. It's a kicker-only, so it's kind of an acquired taste, but nimble and torquey as Hell. I call her my Ugly Nympho Girlfriend (She ain't much to look at, but she's fun to ride!)

Kevin Young;664 wrote: Riding the tail of the dragon is an experience but to be honest some of the roads around it are even more fun. I recommend the cherohala skyway, the moonshiners run (hwy 28, which is right at the end of the dragon), foothills parkway, and some of the best scenery is always the blue ridge.

Last time we went to the dragon a tractor trailer truck thought he would make the run through it and it did not go so well. He took out a couple of cars in front of us, thankfully we did not get caught up in it.

My wife are on our second Goldwing and we have been to Robinsville about 3 times now and you are right the hype on the Dragons Tail is a little over the top...there are plenty of roads off the Blue Ridge that are actually more curvy than the dragon but we still enjoy going there and to Deals Gap to collect souvenirs...I think our next trip we will go to Johnson City...never been there but I hear there are some awesome rides...
