Plugging away with the profile. Took a break from covering to install some components. Very happy with how this is coming together.

Ultracote has a paper backing and monocote has plastic. That being said any of the chinacote brands all have plastic backing. Ultra also goes down at a lower temp.

Probably my favorite part of a build is covering.

Might be easier to wipe that model out of the memory and start over. Here there is a template you can save to your SD card and then open up in the radio and just reassign switches to match your preference. There is also a PDF setup guide for DLG's. very informative.

The profile is basically ready to cover at this point. Here is one wing panel with the wing for the EF 60” slick over it. Lots of wing area. I will share a little more now. The plane is based off the Extra NG but being a profile I’m giving it a special name.

Send it to me before you do that. I will say your first plane to learn Edgetx with being a dlg will test you as a dlg just has way more completed programming than a normal plane.

That is the right call to wait until you can power everything up.

Looks great Mike. There is an art to putting a DLG together. Watch plenty of videos and you will be fine.

It's a profile and my design is about all I will say currently. As for the wing tube that where I'm using the wing tube and phenolic out of a old crashed EF 60" Extra. The phenolic wasn't quite long enough. Since the phenolic is more of just a guide for the tube I'm splicing two pieces together...

Only covering that will be done is a few minor patches. The one wing is destroyed so I'm just ordering a new panel. as for repairing the fuse, EF sells motor box kits so it should be fairly easy to repair it.

Picked up a crashed 104" EF Extra 260 from a buddy. Best price ever of free. It needs a motor box kit, new cowl, and a right wing but its getting repaired.

They will get additional backing. Currently with them on there I'm 1/4" shy of the hub sticking out enough to give me the spinner clearance I would like. I have made some 1/4" thick washers from some scrap delrin just need to install them.
