Sport Sport plane for a Kolm 150

MY thoughts on shear webs. Yes glue them to the sides. If fitted between the spars its just a butt joint then and will add almost zero extra strength. As for ones on the rear spar. No need to do them full length of the wing but I would run them from the root rib out to the rib your wing tube...

Yes. Originally designed for a speed 400 and big NICAD setup. I went with a park 370 and hoping to get away with like a 850mah 3S pack but will see how it balances out.

We've been getting more done on the little girls glider. Just need to cover the top of the wing then we can get the rest of the electronics installed. She is excited to see it all come together.

Interesting. Will have to remember this though when I do finally order a pocket for my little girl it will most likely be the 4in1 version as I have a ton of older ACSST receivers.

We got the tail covered on the little girls glider. She is very excited about it. She did pretty good for her first time with an iron in her hand as well.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Last week while the wife and little girl where visiting family in Utah I wrapped up some of the tedious bits of the build that she didn't have the patience for. She was very excited to see it all framed up and we discussed covering. Fully expected her to want to go with the pink and purple...

Finally got back to work about 2 weeks ago on my big plane I designed. Finished up framing the wings and got started on covering yesterday.

Great to hear. This plane when it had the DLE55 on it weighed 17 lbs even without fuel

Working on converting my 55cc profile to electric. Went with xpwr40cc outrunner and castle esc. The xpwr40 is said to be equivalent to a da50 or dle55 so it’s exactly what I need.

Keep us posted on the radio. I've been looking at getting the radiomaster Pocket to be my daughters primary radio as she learns to fly.

Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

Took both girls to the field yesterday for a few hours. Brought my EF Pantera, SW 48" Edge Hybrid, and the PT40 trainer I redid. Emma did part of a flight on the trainer but was otherwise more interested in talking to everyone there as it was a good turnout. So I mustered up 4 flights on the...

Yeah she loves it currently. Her and the foster girl we have in our home love going to the field. Mostly I think they just like being outside and being able to talk to the other people at the field.

Discussion The I’m Going/Went Flying Thread

Yesterday was a good day flying. Met a couple buddys at the field with my daughter and we got her flying for the first time. 100" Avistar running a T-motor AM670 combo that's been performing amazingly. She was happy after two flights but that didn't stop the fun. She did really well too. only...

    Scale BUSA Super Cub

So I would say from what I have been taught that it actually isn't all that well baffled. You want to take a full scale approach. What I see is the air is being scooped into the cylinder head top and bottom but has no way of getting out easliy thus keeping the hot air around the cylinders. I...

Fredericksburg field is a great place to fly. I thought about attending but the only plane I have that can somewhat count as a warbird is my EF Turbo Bushmaster in the scale Army camo scheme.
