Well it took a while but it is built Sky Wing Slick 35cc plane. Every nice plane we’ll built and also has everything you need to finish the plane. Just have to install the radio and set it up.

Last night I tinkered with my 40W diode laser cutter to see if I could cut ultracote. Took lots of attempts, but I think I found some good settings 34% power/300mm/s / 2 passes. Seems like the cut is decent above 20% but burns after 38% the two passes help with removing the adhesive layer. Now I need to try and make an insignia for my 120” TBM

Visiting family and brought my 85 yo uncle something to glue, trying to keep him busy. He bought me a Kadet Mk II when I was a young teenager and I’ve been in rc ever since. Maybe I can get him to register here and do a build thread.
Some of the planes in his shop are his scratch built designs from the 70’s-80’s.

The Kadet was a great learning tool for both building and flying. The build instructions were great and detailed all the steps to complete the model. I covered mine with Monokote and it was powered by a Fox .40, another favorite smell, burning glow fuel! One of the club members recommended the pink Omega fuel with caster oil so that's what I used. What a feeling making the first successful landing, that was before buddy cords were a thing.

The Kadet was my first plane (‘82). Bill Cunningham maidened it and handed it off to me after trimming. I was shaking like a leaf. I still remember all these years later.
