The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I have yet to fly a Falcon but its my understanding they are amazing. Yes getting ailerons setup on a DLG is a PITA but worth it once down right.

did not know it was shorter overall. I know the tails I’m installing on my Flitz are actually F2 tails which overall are slightly smaller but the actual movable part of them is larger.

Decided I didn't like the look of the bare kevlar nose so I got the spray paint out. Orange shows well for me in the air. Ignore the tall grass its been to wet in my back yard for the mower the past couple of weeks.

Tungsten is the way to go. Heavier than lead and takes up less space. I like the angled setup. Would you like the model I drew up for my tray? Should be easy to modify to work with what looks like MKS 65's. My next piece of advice for you is loose the big RX. You can do everything with four...

I don't remember exactly what they where. I know the Rudder I had maxed as much as I could get. Elevator I went with max up without it hitting the boom and then as much down as it can get as you want it to rotate quickly at the top of your launch. Here are some pictures of my buddy I fly with...

Getting closer. The angled mount works best but the tray was still overall a little too wide. They sit down low enough that the hatch will pop right on. Back into inventor I went. I narrowed the whole tray slightly. Decided the rear tab on the left was useless so I cut it off to remove...

And some printed parts to test out each one. I know the in line one will work but it will take up alot of space. I'm hoping one of the other two will work but they wont allow the servos to sit as low in the pod so it may interfere with the hatch closing.

Some modeling fun to give me options on servo layout.

More work completed. Got those pesky servos out. You can see the remnants of how they where mounted. I will be sanding it all away for the install of the new gear. The red color is from trying to use some SIG CA debonder but it wouldn't get down in as far as I would have liked. Those pesky...

A buddy brought me his 1M DLG for repairs. he botched a catch when bringing it in and it landed on its tail snapping it in half. Isn't that paint on my truck hood in amazing condition? First order of business is find something that fits inside the boom. Carbon fiber arrow shaft to the rescue...

Well @AKNick post have giving me the urge to work on some DLG's. Start of the upgrades for my Flitz Classic. KST X08's will replace the old noisy JR servos. Also new Carbon tail to replace the beat up green fiberglass ones. I got these tails for a buddy who had ordered them for his Flitz 2...

Yes those MKS are very nice. The KST makes a little noise as I had them in my Vortex 3 but they are way better than the JR's

Stick with the 650 unless you need the 1000 for balance. You can fly a long time off of the 650. Dlg setup is certainly a compromise and the Flitz series in particular has a very tight pod. I just ordered some new KST X08’s to install in mine as the JR’s in the pod are noisy as hell

Damn sucks to see it go in like that. I guess in a way you are better than me in that I can't remember the last time I did a range check on any of my stuff.

I will try to watch that at some point as I hadn't seen it before. I have been having a blast flying this new 2.4m foam glider I got. It's heavy as hell but still thermals so nice. Got a 26 minute flight yesterday on one battery and in total I had maybe a minute of run time on the motor, maybe a...

I have been swimming in the pond once before. Have flown my UMX timber on floats off of it a few times though. For the most part I kept my dlg above dry land.

Yeah my DLG is all black on the bottom minus a large orange patch on one wing and an orange pinstripe on the LE and I can see it really well. I have had people tell me the pinstripe on the front is a waste but I can promise you when the plane is a ways out and your flying towards yourself that...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

In the RCGroups thread on in many have upgraded the motor to the one that comes in their ASW28 and then run 4S turning a bigger prop. I need to get my watt meter out and see what its pulling. If I could manage to turn a slightly bigger prop on the same battery I think that would do it. It's...
