The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Kind of a sad day. Wife and I have decided we think we want to sell the house. Need to get it cleaned up and presentable so stuff in my shop that isn't being used is getting relocated for a while. The start of that was my stack of logs I had milled a couple years ago then some RC supplies. The...

Yes I have a couple of the CHL batteries and like them. A few of my Probro buddies swear by them. They have also had good results with the Turnigy Graphene batts.

A buddy of mine had the big one for a while and liked it. He actually had it while he was still living in AK but sold off alot of his stuff before coming back to VA a few months back. I flew his 84" a couple of times when he lived here the first time and it was pretty awesome. For me 2200mah 4S...

Looks good. Sad you have to replace the floats especially with the cost of new ones. I want one of the TBM's so bad but I don't want an electric setup that big.

Yes I saw that about a week ago. I wish they would have done that a couple months ago when I had ordered some of them. These X06's have the encased motor and its nice not having to worry about the motor wires.

Yes that’s the plan for it to be an electric glider. I have found at least currently I’m not good enough with a 1M to keep it in the air long (they just blow through lift so quick). Yes thinking of doing NACA ducts on it just gotta figure out how to draw them. here are some pictures of the...

More work done on the new pod for the DLG. I can say it was a ton of trying to figure out how to draw the wing saddle with trying to incorporate the airfoil of the wing, the wing incidence, and the dihedral. Once I know this fits I will be incorporating servo mounts as well. Figure since the...

I printed a test part of just the wing saddle to see how it fits the wing. It’s not perfect but it’s close. Now to add more features to it and print the final product.

Project I working on. A buddy have me his crashed 1M DLG, wings and tail parts where all fine with no damage just the fuse broken a couple of times. I drawing a new pod for it to make it a powered glider. Once it is done I will 3D print it and glue the good portion of the tail boom on it.

What mike said. It's on top. Looks like the cargo carriers people use on top of vans to have extra space.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

Dragged this thing home yesterday. Got a pretty good deal on it and its a 2015 model so way newer than others we had been looking at. Looking forward to making memories with the family in it. The little girl is super excited about it.

I warn you if you get one they are addictive. Well gliders in general are. I was hesitant for so long to get a glider as looked so boring. I quickly learned that it is a huge art to it. Finding thermals is pretty easy but knowing how to react and stay in them is tough.

Yup exactly. I have had a couple of 1M DLG's and they are fun but they require alot of work to fly well. I have found they just generally move so quick that they blow through lift pretty quickly if your not on your toes and ready to react when the plane signals.
