    Scale 35% Krill Extra 330SC....CUSTOM-ARF!!!

Back in the Enamel and Lacquer days we used 360 as our final sanding grit. Basecoat is much thinner paint and sometimes the metallic will lay strange and show funny scratches if you use to rough a grit. I will add that I don't miss Lacquer or Enamel at all. ;)

    Scale 35% Krill Extra 330SC....CUSTOM-ARF!!!

400 grit at a minimum, I would say 500 or 600 for your final sanding would be great. SEM Self Etch works good, but doesn't fill very well. We use it on small sand through areas here in the shop, and have for many years.

Question? What's good in cheap servos these days?

    I've decided to use 7954's

Scale 1/4 Scale 148" Shrike Commander

You can do some really curvy shapes using planking. I did it on my scratch build 30's racer and it's got lots of curves! I made a tool for beveling the edges using a Master Airscrew Balsa Striper. Beveling gives you better joints. I used CA to attach the planks to the framework, and Sig Sigment...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

The one that's on there is ceramic. Tony has a 26x12 three blade on his Carf Extra 330SC with a DA120 and loves it, so he wanted one on the Ultimate too.

It shouldn't do that unless you are in "hold" mode. If it's doing that in normal mode you have the gain too high.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

As long as it is set up correctly and is not in "Hold Mode" that is correct. In my opinion, you won't feel a correctly setup gyro in "Normal Mode". I turn off "Hold Mode", it's just not necessary on an airplane. On a helicopter it's pretty much the other way around.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

As I understand the new Spektrum gyro, all the adjustments are done from a gyro screen on your newer Spektrum transmitter. The JR won't do that.

    Yippee! What the postman brought

The radio is a JR 11X DSMX with a Spektrum PowerSafe 12 channel receiver. Since the Cortex can only do 5 input/outputs, it will be used on the single rudder servo, the 2 elevator servos, and the 2 aileron servos in the lower wing. The 2 servos in the top wing won't go through the gyro. I've read...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

The prop, Blazing Star mount, and Tech-Aero came from Tim at Northwest RC, and the fancy towel was in the box.:)

    Yippee! What the postman brought

Something I found interesting was the serial number on the DA120, 4362. My oldest DA50 was bought in 2005 and it's serial number 4779. They must have sold a lot of DA50's.;)

    Yippee! What the postman brought

I received a relay from USPS via my buddy Tony this week with a load of parts for his Ultimate. Falcon 3 blade prop, DA120, fuel tank, Tech-Aero Ultra, wheels, Blazing Star mount, headers, Hysol, fuel lines and batteries. The fuel tank is a PAU pro tank, it's really nice! If you've never...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

We put in a 350' fabric runway a few years ago and the EDF flying really took off after that. Pun intended.:yesss:

Yes, the GP port is taller so the bevel goes towards the engine. I just used the plate to port match them and add contact surface for sealing. Comparing the performance of mine in RPM with others I read on the web I don't think it hurt the performance at all.

The cans should be fine. I made aluminum adapter plates for my GP.

What are you going to use for exhaust? I think they are both rectangular ports with nearly the same bolt spacing, but the ports are taller on the GP.
