So, my plan was to cover the fuse, and completely finish the stabs. Then put the panels on the front of the fuse and mount the canopy, but I'm digging this covering work. So, I'm going to start the wings. As Earle mentioned earlier, the front of the wings (the D tube) is aluminum and there is...

No worries... Good discussion. As Eale said, the weave won't stand out, but you will see some texture. Especially, with it being black. Elevators done....

I will be using DuPont Centari with hardner. I've painted customer planes over the years using this combo and worked really well. It sticks realy well to the solartex. Normally, I use chomabase, or HOC, with Nason clears.

I had to make an "adjustment". The top of the stab shouldn't have stitching. Same with the bottom of the counter balance on the rudder. Fixed, now on to the horizontals.

BTW: I cut all my covering on a mirror... So the picturs may look weird. I cut a few strips 3/8" wide for the stabs.

The rib stitch is the strips, where the pinking is in rolls.

There are many ways to make this look real, including using stits and actually stitching it. For my finish, I'm using natural solartex as covering. There are two products that I will be using for the stitching and pinking. I've never used them before.... But the two company owners were very...

Ok so the next step is the details... Rib stitch and pinking. I'm not an expert, but here's what I know. On a typical aerobatic plane, the stitching is every two inches, and 1" wide. The pinking is two inches wide over the ribs, and 4" wide around the leading and training edges. So, on my...
