Yes and no. Thankfully my company is relocating our R&D facility to better meet market needs. That being said, I made sure it was going to an area with good flying weather.

Yeah but I've only flown it twice with the EME 70. The weather in the Texas Panhandle sucks for flying and a pilot may only get out 5-10 times per year at most. Right now I am packing everything to move and so I should have more to report on the EME 70 later. So far, the power is pretty good...

IMAC Double Build, Carden Pro 124" Extra 300 40%

I've had that happen and it always seems to happen around full throttle. I don't know if I wear them out or they get too hot and it fries them.

    IMAC Build: Dalton Extra 300

Well, I'm boxing everything up because we're about to be harvesting and then moving. It's been another summer with very little flying thanks to high winds on a regular basis and also combined with really high temperature (106+ for much of the summer). So I'm looking forward to the move and...

Workshop Build-Along — Balsa USA 1/3-scale Fokker Triplane

I like seeing the kayak hanging from the ceiling!

    New Engine Break-In

I would say I'm already pretty close to tuned. There are a few minor adjustments to be made and it's making a decent amount of power. I can tell it's still a little tight. This is a thread about how handling an engine that isn't pre-run. So I'm asking more about putting a little time on it...

    New Engine Break-In

I got my EME 70 fired up today. I will say it was not easy to get running the first time. Some manufacturers run their engines before selling them and some don't. This engine was oiled pretty well so I didn't drop any 2 stroke oil in the case before starting. After I finally got the...

    Build: EF 88" Edge 540T

I got some baffling done for the motor tonight. I just need to re-install the fuel tank and some other stuff and open up the cowling for the mufflers a little more. Well unless something else comes up.

    Build: EF 88" Edge 540T

I got a crude cutout for the mufflers in the cowling. If I need to adjust it, I can make the modifications with the mufflers on. I also got the mufflers on. I used Hondabond for the gasket material and Loctite 272 for the bolts. If I have to redo this, I'll need another tube. I had to cut it...

Meh, this isn't a heli site so I wouldn't worry about it.

Are you referring to RC Heli Nation? Just curious. I listen to that one as well partly because I fly helis too but I'm not as involved with them as I am planes.

    GSN Podcasts

I'm an avid podcast listener just because I have a 30 minute commute and it beats NPR especially during an election season. The Angle of Attack podcast is OK. Lot of mixed topics for everything from multirotors, FPV, foamies, but little giant scale discussion. My $0.02 is to focus on giant...

    Build: EF 88" Edge 540T

Nothing too exciting. I got the engine mounted and the throttle pushrod set up. I also installed the spark plugs. I just did about 1/16th of a turn. What is everyone else doing? Next up is to cut the cowling for the mufflers. I'll probably buy another cowling but for now I'm just going to...

    Sunday night GSN Update

What do you have left in the way of shirts? I hate to see the site go and I'd like to get one more shirt.

    Build: EF 88" Edge 540T

I was having problems with the DA 60, sent it in, and $200 later I had a bad taste in my mouth from that motor. So I sold it and got an EME 70. I got the old holes plugged up Tuesday night. My 10-32 hardware for mounting the motor came yesterday so I got the new holes drilled, blind nuts...

    Full Scale Electric Racer

I don't remember how I found or heard about this, but it's pretty neat. They're doing some reverse engineering from hobby stuff as well.
