    Aerobeez Slick 70 PRO

I read somewhere else on someone's comparison to the flight characteristics of this plane and they said it's more aggressive than the 3dhs 71" Slick... any comments about that? Now that 3dhs no longer makes the Velox I'm looking for a nice light ~68-70" electric plane that comes in under 10b...

    3D 3DHS/Extreme Flight Family - 91" Yak 55 - Black

actually cranking the endpoints up to 130-140 is ideal for servo resolution and feel, so I wouldn't change a thing! I'll have to look at my radio and see where mine wound up...

    3D 3DHS/Extreme Flight Family - 91" Yak 55 - Black

45 degrees seems to be plenty on mine, typically I like a lot of elevator on most of my planes, 55-65 degrees often. But I toned it down on this plane to about 45 and am happy there. I think I have 2" arms on the elevators of mine.

    Spinner Thoughts

These are a good bit more money than that hobbyking one, but they are quite nice. Not a carbon backplate either... http://flypau.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_17_21&products_id=22

    Little Rock IMAC Pictures

Jeez, I live in Little Rock and knew nothing of that event. That club never seems to do much advertising for their events.

spinner or no spinner for better cooling?

Baffling currently goes back to almost the cylinders, about 1.5 inches or so. It was as much as I could do and still be able to work the cowl onto it. It's a completely enclosed baffle, all four sides, so the air will go as much as possible onto the cylinder head. The plane is already a touch...

    First 50cc plane

A guy near Cabot, Arkansas just asked me to post up a brand new in box Pilot Extra 330 50cc airframe to our club's for sale page... not too far from you. Might be able to work out a deal with him on it if you like. He also has a new in box DLE-55 to go with it. Might save a bundle of shipping if...

spinner or no spinner for better cooling?

Well the spinner helps, but not quite as much as I had thought/hoped it might. I still saw temps range up to 325, but not any higher. Previous I could see it get into the 340 range. I did notice that it didn't heat up as quickly though, moves that used to pop the heat up into the 330+ range in...

spinner or no spinner for better cooling?

Spinner received this afternoon, so I got it all cut and mounted a few minutes ago. Looks great. Definitely a fan of the No Limitz spinners! Now hopefully the weather holds for the weekend and I get to see how much difference it makes in the motor cooling.

How long to let an engine warm up?

I've got telemetry on my motor, and I find that it only takes about 15-20 seconds of it running at a fast idle, maybe 2000 rpm or so for the temp of the motor to get up to about 150 degrees. After that I'll run it up a few times, check the transition and if all is well go fly.

spinner or no spinner for better cooling?

Thanks for the tip on the PAU spinners, I ordered up a 3 1/8" one, hopefully it will fit a Falcon 24x9 prop. That ought to leave plenty of room for air to get in still... I'll be sure and update the thread here with results of how much better/worse it does in cooling as soon as I get it...

spinner or no spinner for better cooling?

I've been running a motor with no spinner for a while now, it's mounted on a 3dhs 91" Yak 55. The cowl curves around the front more than most other Yak's I've seen, and if I used the 3dhs suggested spinner (4") it doesn't leave a whole lot of room for air to enter the cowl and cool the motor...

    3DHS 91" Yak 55

I like my EME 70, but it doesn't spool up as fast as a single, definitely not as snappy. Bit harder to start until it's broken in too. Once broken in it isn't bad. I'm turning a Falcon 24x9 carbon prop to about 6800 rpm reliably on it now. I don't know how that compares power wise to the EME60...

    3DHS 91" Yak 55

Weather here has been lousy for the last 3 months with rain nearly every other day and the fields being too soggy to fly from if it isn't actually raining. So today when we finally had some beautiful weather I was able to get my Yak back out for some fun flying. Sure have missed the plane... the...

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

40 size glow 3d planes used to fly really well on that same prop, so if that gas motor behaves anything like the glow ones used to, then it should be fun.
