If you can 28x12 its a good load on the engine. With minimal throttle management it should be good

    Futaba 18MZ/14SG/8FG Tips and Tricks

Yes you can also change the mixing as needed particularly knife edge for high alpha 3d. I like using stick logic for snaps and stall turns in pattern.

EF 104 Extra vs AJ Slick 104

I've flown both. Flew the extra more at a contest in 2012 when there was an accident with my Aeroworks 300. I liked it a lot. Flew the slick 104 at a flyin. Granted I had more time on the extra between rounds getting it setup to my liking. Overall I liked the tracking of the extra better, and...

    Thrust line adjustment?

So for up thrust its 1 shim on the bottom of each post. to do right you add 1 shim on both left posts. So this way you have 1 shim on the bottom right 2 on bottom left, and 1 on the top left. This method prevents any load on the crank case that could occur, and works really well. You can get...

I have the power! ...or do I?

Cool I believe you can turn the voltage on the Eq6 up to 6.5 Volts which is what I always did. What people forget is we used to fly hard Freestyles with 8411 and 9351 servos two per wing on 35%ers and even 40%ers which only had 130 -180 oz of torque. Its old school but perfect example of a good...

I have the power! ...or do I?

Don't know how far you are with this project. If it were me the 9157s keep in mind at 6v they put out 425 oz of torque are awesome servos. Everyone likes HV but for Pattern and Imac I prefer the system to be regulated for consistency flight after flight. I've used the eq6 as well as some of the...

    Futaba 18MZ/14SG/8FG Tips and Tricks

usuallyI put them in order and change the function around. Channel 1 throttle, 2 and 3 elevator, 4 and 5 as rudder, 6 and 7 as aileron, and 8 and 9 as aileron 2. Also I do not like to use the subtrim on ailerons to get neutral but rather get the arm as close to neutral then adjust the linkage...

    Throttle servo?

The fact that you pay roughly $1200 for a 35% wood arf, at least $800-$1200 on a motor $200-$600 on exhaust and anywhere between $1000- $1800 on servos depending, a $100 servo is cheap.
