Getting closer to a first start :). Engine is bolted up to firewall and air intake filter / throttle and choke control linkage completed. Was concerned at first with the air filter fitting because the 72 sets the carb about 3/4" further back. Had plenty of room after all.... :fist_pump:. I did...

I think your a bit like me and enjoy doing others "dirty work" :). Take it as a compliment. Obviously your friend has a lot of confidence in your skills. However I do know sometimes things get brought to us that no skill level or tool can fix other than a hammer o_O. I have read really good...

Discussion The I’m going out flying thread 2018

It's one thing to be a 20 or 30 something in this heat but a 60 or 70 something? :cautious::concern::ooh?: .....:deadhorse:

Got as far as getting the 50 off the airframe and installing 3/4" inch stand offs. This will put the spinner back plate about 1/8" off the cowl. The difference in weight of the two engines is 6.8 oz. The battery tray I made weighed 5.2 oz. Putting both batteries back to the left side of the...

Peak Models 32% Extra 330 SC

Nope. Not that I'm aware of . A 70cc class engine is best suited for this plane and to be honest the cowl was designed for a 70cc twin. I'm very pleased with the DL50 however and am really looking forward to getting it mounted back up to the Pilot Extra. That plane is going to have...

Peak Models 32% Extra 330 SC

So I finally got off me duff and started the engine change out. Been talking with a friend via email who has two of the 72's. He is currently flying one of the two in an EF91 Extra. Reports are positive but the second engines ignition was faulty (RCAME). DJ has come out with a new ignition for...

That would be the V2 DJ72GTS. The DL50 will be going back on the Pilot 78" Extra 330. The new fuse for it hopefully will show up this month. The plan was to get 70cc's hauling 20 pounds and 50cc's hauling 15 pounds.

Now that I have some "down" time due to technical difficulties obviously beyond my control ..... Got my foam force cornered. My scale attempt cornered. So it's time to see if I can do a transplant on an Alien o_O....

Your most welcome Paul. Pleasure talking with you. Hope you have hundreds of pin point precision flights with your new plane. I enjoyed YS engines for many years and it's a pleasure I could help you in a small way. Enjoy :).

I too have been enjoying the 50-70cc class planes the most for the same reasons for the past few years. I have however recently been enjoying the EPO electrics. Way easy to manage and they really have put the fun factor back in it for me. I can stuff all three (Cap, Extra and Avanti S) in the...

You are quite right. But I believe he at first did not realize it is an actual "investigative" photo. I'm sure he meant no harm. Just joking with me.

That's just it. I did not hit that hard. When I slammed my brakes anti lock kicked in and nose of my vehicle dove under the other vehicles rear bumper causing the havoc from such a minor impact. The real bumper on my van you can see it in the pic. It's untouched! And you just had to bring up...

OMG! I think your right. It looks as if you can make out a body in an air bag too! Poor soul :(. Was that an SUV ? Looks as if it once was. I don't even want to joke about it now. Poor soul indeed.
