It will be 90% a lovefest, I mean 3D fun-fly open flying event! haha Maybe 100%, we'll see if there is any interest in the competing part. When we had the small comps during the event it never took very long. Kinda just like demos... gotta see if Kyle can beat me with my own plane. haha But...

I think I read on the AMA site this morning where they are not going to make an AMA requirement. That it is up to the individual... not club enforced. I think I read that. haha Sounds to me like the AMA has already blown this thing and it's all over but the crying at this point.

Yeah, the field is super nice... you could land anywhere out in the field and be fine. It's nice and big too... and the runway is really long. Hey, I didn't realize the spinner was already cut... doh!... haha... it was easy to put on. I didn't even put it on for the photoshoot because I thought...

Oh, and you did not sound harsh... I know how the IMAC guys can sound! We ain't about that, at 'tul! Won't be any of that at this event, they'll be a short IMAC intro thing, or no IMAC at all. :)

It's a freestyle event! :) In the past, though, I've found there are a lot of guys that have always been interested in IMAC but found it daunting to think about getting started at an IMAC event. What I've done at some of my events is hold a mock IMAC contest with the sportsman sequence and...

HEY! The giant scale 3D funfly with mini contest and IMAC primer is definitely on! January 22-24 at the Irvine Lake field (OCMA)! All you guys need to be there! 75 degrees and sunny I would suspect! I'll get @Spats to bring a bunch of planes up for you guys flying in from out of state... I'll...

What I've been told is that brushless need similar power to a brushed servo when moving, but not near as much power to hold its position. Whereas a brushed servo is using max power to hold its position and even then is heating up and fading. Ever since I tried my first brushless servo a couple...

Hi James! When you set up your linkages correctly with a protractor the holes match up throughout the entire range of travel every single time. You don't need an amp meter nor radio adjustment. :) I did not use the amp meter to setup my servos, I was really just throwing it back at my friend...

You know.... I've used control horn bolts on 90% of the planes I've built (that's a lot of planes, mostly 40% planes) and never worried about that, nor had any trouble with that (just setup the AW 122" Yak55m like that and flew it hard, too). But, I went ahead and epoxied these on because you...

Cut off the stock control horns and drilled in some bolts! Man, ssssssooooooooooooooooooooooo much better! Fast, easy, setup. Exactly 53 degrees off the TBD center each direction yields exactly 6" up and down. Synchronized servos with equal drag on each side of the plane anytime, all the time...
