How was cutting the "T" slot? Did you buy a cutter or make one? Looking real good.

    What beer ya drinking tonight?

Out with family yesterday, found this board rather unique. Of course I drank Miller Lite in a bottle as all the taps were occupied.

I didn't put any guards on the scales installed with the reader down. The only one that was guarded was the lathe cross slide and now that is gone.

The wiring, glad you got the problem resolved.

Never have enough tools! How did you resolve your power problem on the mill?

Kind of odd! You got me thinking of a smaller scale. I don't know about the output listed, you have two options, quadrapture and 1 v pp. My display uses a RS422 TTL and I don't if either of those will work, I'm rather sure yours is TTL as well. Rewiring was easy, I just mentioned it to make...

The magnetic scale arrived today for the cross slide. It is installed and I can now touch the chuck jaws with a tool now, I'm happy. See the before and after photos. I did need to rewire the plug to match my RS422 pinout. Above is the original glass scale, it was 2 1/4" long. The magnetic...

I tried using the follow rest once but things didn't work as expected. I like the way Joe Pie does it with micarta board.

    2.75 x 25.4 =69.85, should be fine.

I used a glass cutter to cut the glass, very easy to do. All of my scales were cut to length.

I pulled the trigger on a 5" magnetic scale, hopefully it will work with my display. I will need to rewire the plug because my display uses a different pinout. With a little luck the 6" chuck will clear, if not I will gain 1" of travel, the glass scale is 2 1/4" while the magnetic is 1 1/4"...

    Yippee! What the postman brought

That seems like quite a bit of power for a scale Taylorcraft. The 1/3 scale JTEC Taylorcraft spans 112", engine size recommended is 50 to 100 cc.

Looks good, so the ways were cut with a chamfer end mill?

Where did you purchase the slide, have a link?

    Mini lathe (and mill) discussion.

Built this mechanism for the power feed on my mill x axis. The power feed was made from a windshield wiper motor, 15 volt 20 amp power supply and a pulse width dc motor controller. An 1 1/8" socket is used to engage and disengage the feed, it slides on a half inch piece of key stock fitted on...
