Futaba GYA 430 vs. GYA 440

I just talked with Tower hobbies, I was told that the GYA440 will be replacing the older GYA430. As far as I can tell the manuals for the two are about the same, both will do S-bus, both are single axis for airplanes only. Here is my question for all you gyro experts, what does it mean when...

    Scale Curtiss XP-55 Ascender

Well today was flight #4 and it was an exciting one! We did get a good video of the flight and the lucky landing. I moved the CG back just a bit, the spinner back plate and some paint were added this flight but boy did it seem to make a difference. The elevator was really sensitive and the model...

Finally!:brian-banana: Flight number 3 it all came together, with the CG moved another 1" aft the model actually flew like an airplane. The canard response was good but not touchy which allowed me to flair on landing and keep the retracts in the model instead of spreading them along the...

New Product Pilot- 26% Edge 540 V3 Hamilton ARF DUE DECEMBER!

Your photo's look just fine to me. Your right, we must have been within arms reach of each other right across from Matthias Dolderer's hanger! Brenda and I also got Kirby to sign our Red Bull air race hat which was cool, so now I can were that when I fly my Edge 540 in it's Red Bull scheme.

New Product Pilot- 26% Edge 540 V3 Hamilton ARF DUE DECEMBER!

I would have to argue that, my favorite scheme is that of Martin Sonka with his Red Bull Edge 540 V3. I got a great photo of Martin signing his autograph for my wife Brenda.

You are correct, it was Abe's voice but it was Abe Jr actually behind the camera. I am also looking forward to the next flight, my big goal on the next flight is to bring the model home with the retracts still in the wing. maybe I should just go ahead and install the pneumatic gear stuff...

Hi Earle, The camera that Abe Jr used is a small thing about the size of a deck of playing cards. The screen works great until the sun is at your back then its a real challenge to see anything. Since it's the only video camera I have I decided to bring it to the field, maybe some day I'll...

Show off Warbird photos...you know you have one!

Hey Forest, You are a building machine! I have not checked in on RCSB much but it seems like yesterday when you started the thread for your build. I checked out your You Tube video and it looks like a beautiful flying model, and your finish is fantastic. Congratulations on a outstanding FW...

Another PAU model, this one is their 50cc Edge 540T, I chopped off 14" from each aileron, made the trailing edges nice and sharp, re-hinged all the surfaces getting rid of the bevel gap, put in a DLE 60cc twin that required blisters on the cowling and a chin scoop, and the last big change was...

    Any Monokote users here?

Monokote will never give you a finish like glass & paint, if you have this in mind when you cover a model with the stuff then you cannot be upset with the end result. I still use Monokote for my "fun-fly" models, it's light, easy to fix, and quick to iron on. From a distance it turns out looking...

Thanks Ace R/C, I did not know that you could do that. I have a Futaba 14 something or other that does a million things that I have no idea how to use. I will break out the book and see if I can figure out how to do that, then I think that will help with the landing issues.

Well the second flight is in the log book, once again the gear took a beating but not to bad. This flight was done with the CG moved 1" aft of the first flight and it still seems nose heavy but at least it didn't try to plow the fields in the turns! I'll move the CG back another 1" and give it...

    Post'em....Old planes you miss having

Here is one that I miss, this photo was taken in 1976 out in my parents back yard in Albuquerque NM. I have been thinking about building another Trouble Maker but all of the Senior Pattern contests are a 500 mile drive. Yep, I started out flying Kraft radios, check out that hat:)
