    PAU Canopy bolts

Hello everyone, As the Viper container drifts closer and closer I've been making some plans for my build. I noticed that PAU uses 4 bolts at the rear of the canopy and it looks like dowel pins at the front. I like to put my switches and fuel dots under the canopy but that really isn't...

    Viton tubing

I'm not really going to worry about $40 in fuel tubing on a $6k-$7k plane:devil-dance:

    Viton tubing

I have read about many people using Viton tubing inside their fuel tanks. Why not run Viton for all the fuel tubing in a plane, not just the clunk line? I'm finding with the ethanol gas my tygon doesn't stay flexible very long. -David

What is the max number of channels generally needed for giant scale?

The matchbox is basically a really fancy Y cable. It allows you to match throw and direction of 2 servos. If you use it on elevator you would plug the matchbox into your elevator channel on your rx. Then both elevator servos plug into your matchbox.

    Brand New PAU........Viper-ST Announced!!!!!!!!

@Terryscustom when you do your Viper build are you going to use all the included hardware or will you be changing out the threaded rods to something else?

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I almost think I'd rather deal with the mess of glow fuel than deal with all the batteries for electrics. For some reason I just hate charging and managing flight packs. I've got a couple of small electrics but more often or not I leave them at home because I don't want to deal with the batteries.

    91" Extreme Flight Extra

I typically set up 2 rates. One that I fly in most of the time with huge 3d deflections and 40-50% expo. Then another with much lower rates and less deflection. I use the lower rates when practicing IMAC, but even with the IMAC flying I do I typically use the high rates.

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

It was predicted to rain in Houston but it ended up being deep blue sky and 72. Great day of flying. I got in just over an hour of flight time on my 78 EF extra.

    Wing rock

Are you using SFGs? My extra is much much more stable in high alpha with them than without them. It doesn't snap as cleanly and rolls aren't as nice, but high alpha is way better.

    Wing rock

I agree with Terry on the wing fowling the airflow over the tail. There are a couple of things you can try though. Try moving the CG some. A bit more tail heavy might help. If that doesn't help try shifting the CG a bit towards the nose. My 78" EF Extra will rock if I don't hold the nose...

Wow! I wish I could have made the Huck-o-ween. I am headed out to the field after work today though. The weather in Houston is promising to be great!

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

I built 4 sets of new aileron linkages for my Chip Hyde Double Vision. I cut all thread rod, sleeved it with carbon fiber, then added the ball links and clevises. However, I some how miss measured on my template and all 4 are exactly 1/4" too long.:( This means I get to build 4 new ones.

Which one did you get? Those twisted hobby planes are crazy fun. I’ve been eyeing the new version 3 edge with thrust vectoring!
