    Giant Scale Axel Oil anyone make the stuff?

    For sure , you will probable have to hold more up to prevent a nose over from the extra resistance when you finally touch down.

    Tachometers - what do you use?

    I have an old school tach with push bottoms to from different rpm ranges e.g.. 0-5000 rpm than 4000-9000rpm etc until you reach 30000rpm . I have had it since 1984 and still works perfectly on a nine volt battery :cool: I dont like the digital read outs watching a needle move i find is a a lot...

    Pilot RC 122" Extra 330SC

    Even better than the Nelson 40 was the Super Tiger X40 on 70% nitro 18% synthic oil and just a touch of Methanol .A very distinct sound at 22000 rpm and a sweet smell of the Nitro burning . That was when was in my teen s and early twenties i flew these fast machines . Good memories :epic:

    Todays paint is very flexible it doesn't spider crack , manufacturers can add flex agent to paint on bumpers on cars so it doesn't crack . You see where I'm going ! I have an old Toni Prather formula 1 pylon racer from 1987 and the Fuselage is still very flexible and the paint hasn't cracked ...

    What I have experienced is with epoxy resin there is more flex when you apply any pressure to , the cracking is the fibreglass when pushed to hard and yes heat from the engine makes it more brittle . Epoxy fibre glass is superior to ployester resin fibreglass . The Cowl on my 3dhs cracked at...

    I went our B&E site last nite and they don't yet have the Extra posted to see the new Color scheme , it wasn't even listed . They are really good at producing what the customer requires and also added what would like good on the Aircraft , i've had good result with them and will continue...
