    Futaba R7018SB Receiver

No idea. At least this slide switch is not in the actual circuit. I plan to try the Emcotec magnetic switch they use on some of their stuff. http://shop.rc-electronic.com/SPS-SYSTEMS/SPS-gas-cap-switch-actuator-blue-LED-.htm?shop=k_emcotec_e&SessionId=&a=article&ProdNr=A72021&p=2263

    New 78" Carbon-Z® T-28 BNF Basic with AS3X® Technology

My buddy Paul Kopp has a brother who owns more than a couple of planes, including a very nice T-28. Here's Paul sitting in the front seat during landing. He was instructed NOT to touch anything. This is one of my favorite planes!! I may have to request special dispensation from the Home Office...

I'm talking about killing the engine once you are committed to landing, not up at a point where going around is something you might need to do

Need your help fellows - fighting elevator on final

You might try getting set up on final and once you are sure you have the runway made to simply hit the kill switch (you use one, right?). I'll bet it settles nicely onto the runway.

I've got to ask, but how low is your idle? I have had planes that needed to have a very low idle before they would settle nicely onto the runway. I generally try to get a reliable idle that is low enough that the plane will barely taxi without increasing power.

Futaba 2.4GHz FASSTest Dual Battery Receiver

I have had two instances of a servo failing in flight, one was in a 2 servo per aileron planes, the other was a simple servo failing. The 2 aileron servo per aileron incident fried both servos in the left wing. It was a challenge to get it down due to how it was flying. I had a simple dual...

And a very cool app at that. In the iPhone app look for Trim App or Enscand, Inc.

I have a Trim App on my iPhone that applies Peter's trim chart in an interactive manner. Very cool. Trim App 2.0

Elevator trim is only correct for a given speed. Change the speed and the trim required for level flight will change. In a full scale plane you can be in straight and level trimmed flight and climb or descend merely by increasing or decreasing the throttle. So needing different trims at...

    Futaba R7018SB Receiver

Yes, it uses a separate switch that is not in the power feed. This picture shows the switch that comes with it. Not my photo, something I found in cyberspace.

Futaba 2.4GHz FASSTest Dual Battery Receiver

Man, you keep reading more into what I write than what is there. We are each free to do whatever we want to. No judgement. I am not "beating" on anyone. I choose to do things one way and lay out the technical reasons why I do it that way. People can agree with my explanation or not. Those that...

Futaba 2.4GHz FASSTest Dual Battery Receiver

I am not sure why it is demeaning to point out that a popular perception is based more on clever and effective marketing than it is on technical reality. As I always end saying however, if it makes you feel good, then do it. It's a hobby and in the end that is all the reason any of us need in...

Futaba 2.4GHz FASSTest Dual Battery Receiver

For me this receiver provides me everything I want, and that is a robust power delivery using 2 packs directly into the RX. I have never been a fan of either dual receivers or all these others devices that people have convinced themselves are required to fly a big plane. For me I see those as...

Batteries: Which Lithium Chemistry and How Are You Charging?

I contacted Pulse regarding the confusion about the discharge rate on their 2,550 mAh 2S lipo RX pack. One place it said 6C another said 15C. Their answer is that it is 15C, meaning that the pack is rated for a 38 amp continuous load. Most lipo can handle spikes of twice their nominal C rating...

Batteries: Which Lithium Chemistry and How Are You Charging?

I started using it when I was flying Nitro helis. Been using it ever since. It is fantastic at isolating vibration from electronics. I use it under the gyro sensor on all my helis too!! Many heli shops will carry it and you can get it from Amazon as well (what a surprise!!)
