Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

Or If all else fails, you can always do it like my brother did .He has a Fox body Mustang with a 377 chevy in it. Still street legal (barely) full cage, narrowed rear end, running street slicks. It's a wild ride!!!

Before getting much further along with the retracts, make sure the gear doors are on so you can trial fit everything together. Looking very nice so far. It's at this point of a build when everything really starts coming together.

    Scale Plans built P-51

Good. I have to agree on putting them in. I used to have an old Dynaflite .60 size P51 that I built. Those kits were sport scale, but in the air with the wheels up the plane looked great. I always lowered the wheels during the descent over the runway going with the wind then turned into the wind...

Scale The Naked Truth of Covering a Plane

The clear I seal edges with is Nason 496-00 with a touch of Nason 483-78 activator. DuPont 7600 clear is good too. just much more costly. Really any good automotive clear will work ,and it is a bit more flexible when dried than clear fingernail polish. I use it on some covering edges and also...

    3D Viper-ST 100-120cc scratch build......it continues!

I have used the cutters they sell for wrapping paper from 3M . They work pretty well for where you overlap your covering edges. Not near good enough for any edges where you have 2 colors though. Like you I use mostly very sharp scissors and exacto knives.

Scale The Naked Truth of Covering a Plane

Think of covering as shingles on a roof. All seams away from the airflow, and start at the bottom and work up. If cutting over the surface of the covering is needed for trim cut before attaching the outer edge and stick something like a thin metal ruler under the trim piece so you are not...

One big question for you Terry... Do you ever get your shop messy or have a tool out of place??? :)

    Glassing and Painting techniques

I also love the look of a tinted canopy. I usually tint the inside surface though. It's a bit harder to do that way,but the same process that Terry does his. I will second Terry's comment on not applying too much tint. Remember that when looking into the plane it will appear twice as dark...

    3D CAP 232-ST design / build / prototype

I totally agree. The wing location will not throw off the overall looks of the plane, whereas stab location would alter the overall look of the airframe. It will still look exactly like a CAP and not be mistaken for any other plane.
