    New 30cc Airframe to beat

In the redwing lineup I liked the MXSR the best of the three I flew. I flew the Slick, Extra, and MXSR at an event this summer and liked the mxsr the best. To be fair though they were all other peoples planes, and not setup the way I would like for rates and particularly prop/motor choice. All...

    What's Up With 3DHS??

Oh.. I don't know, the EF 76" MXS is definitely my choice over the 3dhs 74" Edge, but to be fair the MXS is not exactly a 30cc plane. It will fly on 30cc, but it's 3lb heavier than the 3dhs 74" Edge, and is really a 35-40cc plane. You are gonna love the 51" Slick though. I've had about 5 of...

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

45 degrees? Wow. I setup my planes up typically with about 35-37 degrees and have no need for more on any plane I own. Some I even back down from that.

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

Flew my new one today, has a DA-35 with ES composite pipe on it spinning a 20x9 falcon prop. Wow... huge difference in the ES pipe vs. a regular pitts DA-35 with a 20x8 or Vess 20b. It's on turbo mode with the pipe, hard to get her to slow down! But XA stuff is incredible on the setup. My last...

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

Those numbers are right in line with mine, I was getting about 500 mah in a 12 minute flight, so 450 for 10 minutes sounds perfect to me. Of course some people will use a bit more or less depending on how aggressive you are with the servos too. But that's a heck if a lot better than what you...

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

Those numbers seem really high to me. I had 2 2s2600 lipos in my last 76" MXS, and after flying 4 12 minute flights I would usually put back in about 1000 mah to each. So around 500 mah per 12 minute flight was what I was figuring as my usage rate on them. Similar setup, tech-aero ibec, so that...

    78'' Extra

I wonder if the rudder size was increased any? That was probably what I noticed the most as needing more of... it lacked authority/ability in pop tops. I was actually pretty happy with the previous elevator authority. Now if the schemes were updated as well.... maybe to the one used in the 104...

    Sugesstions for a 60" EF 3D plane

What style of flying are you looking to do on the Vyper? Tons of high speed XA type flying with tumbles, pop tops, walls, and other manuevers that use full deflection elevator at high speed? Or are you planning more of a pattern/precision flying style with it, along with an occasional...

    Sugesstions for a 60" EF 3D plane

First off, look at the respective weights of the 65" Vyper and the 64" MXS, not the wingspan. The MXS is about 6lb. The Vyper is 8.5-9 if memory serves from the one I used to own. That's a HUGE difference. And also the the 5245 is noted to be on the short side of needed torque. Yes, it will...

    -= SLiCKNeSS SiCKNeSS =-

The landing gear area got the carbon rod reinforcements on the v2 51's I think. That's about it other than new schemes.

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

60 degrees is plenty on the plane... you don't need more. Definitely move the holes in if you can...

    Sugesstions for a 60" EF 3D plane

+1. The SFG's were more my speed, no tips. I had probably 500-700 flights on mine that way and then sold the airframe. Flew a friends the other day who had just the tips, and it was very very different feeling. Not nearly as locked in and 'homey' feeling. Felt nothing like my old one.

    What's Up With 3DHS??

Couldn't agree more, it's the performance we pay for. And after about 10 years in this hobby I've owned a plane from just about every manufacturer I think. About 6 years ago when I discovered 3dhs and specifically the 51" Slick I was thrilled. I had finally found a plane that flew like I wanted...

Hitec's new energy sport - programmable brushless esc series

adjustable voltage BEC would be nice. These remind me of the ZTW A series. Same programming card, similar specs.

    Sugesstions for a 60" EF 3D plane

Nothing makes a great airframe fly terribly more than bad servos. Like Gary I tried to get away with cheaper servos in many of my planes years and years ago. And I was constantly disappointed. I now spend more on the servos than the plane cost quite often, but I am rewarded with a plane that...

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

That's currently my plan... but it sure has been hard to resist pulling the trigger on the EF 74" Laser too. My MXS is repairable with a new motorbox. I talked to Curtis and he asked Chris, and the plan is to stock motorboxes for the 76" MXS someday. I need a wing tube, new landing gear, new...

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

You can. I did mine that way. Posted a pic of it somewhere, either on here or on the rcg thread. Was quite easy to do, and very clean. edit, just checked the rcg thread, and it wasn't there. This site doesn't have a quick and easy "show all attachments" option, and I'm not feeling like looking...

Did anybody flame you? You might want to take a look at the power systems thread on rcgroups: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1533887 Aeroplayin in particular has made a number of posts comparing the weight of the DA-50 to the that of the DA-35 and what the results would...

    Joe Smith quits 3DHS!

Wow, I didn't realize that about PAU. I'll cross them off the list then. I have been reading good things over the last couple of years, and I had sorta thought that maybe I should try one. But with business practices like that, I'll spend my money elsewhere. There are plenty of good airframes...
