The I'm NOT going out flying thread.

But I mow the field also :) Glad I have big planes, the long grass doesn't affect them as much :)

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Wow! I got really lucky on mine. Gerhard had 2 used CS cylinders and pistons that were in almost perfect shape. I got both of them shipped for $250. The engine is a monster now :) Hope yours turns out as well :)

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

That looks like an expensive fix :( Been there, done that! VERY recently when a c-clip let loose on my 3w-106 and traveled between the cylinders so it took out both of them.

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

I am running a 28x9 Falcon. I think the 29x9 may be a bit much for the 106, especially being a wide. What were you running it on?

The I'm going out flying thread 2016

Went flying yesterday and noticed after takeoff with the Extra that things were a little louder than normal so I land the plane and checked the spinner, because it sounded like the spinner had come loose. Well, the spinner was tight so I took it off and checked prop bolts, 4 BROKEN bolts!! I...

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

Put the final touches on the repairs and installed the components on the Extra! Ready for a test run of the engine at lunch today :) I was flipping it over last night and there is a TON of compression! The difference in cylinder colors is hardly noticeable also.

Plane Stand Pro - fuselage stand.

You know, funny someone should mention instructions......I have had my truck and stereo system for just about 14 years and have always complained that the lights were to bright and wish they would dim. Well, I was playing with a button today and guess what, THEY DO DIM!!!! So I thought I found a...

I forgot about this forum :) This is what happens when a c-clip breaks and takes out BOTH cylinders on an upline :( The good news is it should be flying again this weekend :)
