    JR 921 receivers

Thanks for all the suggestions and comments. Keep them coming. I'm going to keep working on trying to figure this out.

    JR 921 receivers

I thought that might be an issue, but I have no idea where that setting is. I went through the menus, trying to figure it out.

    JR 921 receivers

I bought 2 JR 921 receivers. These are DSM-2. My transmitter is a JR 9503 DSM-X. Both of these receivers will bind easily to my transmitter, but neither one will transmit signal to the servos. I've re-binded them both several times. At the time I was trying to set up some Robart electric...

    Scale Plans built P-51

Thanks! Finished the tail structure, now on to sheeting the fuselage. I'm going to use a different technique for this part. One I've heard about but never actually used. I'll detail my experience with it as I move forward.

    Scale Plans built P-51

Thanks. According to the guy that drew the plans, the hard part is nearly finished. The rest of the plane is pretty much old school "carve, cut and sand to shape". Trying to decide on solid wing or 3 piece. The 3 piece will definately be easier to handle and transport, but adds a lot of...

Little more work on the tail. This has to be finished before I can move forward with the sheeting of the top of the fuselage.

The bracket has flanges that go in opposite directions. I had to come up with my own way of installing it.

I've installed the control rods into the fuselage. I'm using pull-pull on the rudder and tail wheel. That took 4 rods. Then I used 2, 48 inch, 4-40 rods for the dual elevator control. Getting those long rods to move smoothly and come out even 4 feet away in the servo bay took me all afternoon...

    DLE 85

I'm sorry, but between the weather, and work, etc., I haven't run mine again since the earlier post. Since my plan is to dial it in on my test stand, I figured it would be smart to do that with the muffler I plan to fly it with. I just ordered a J'Tec Pitts muffler. Should arrive early next week.

I went flying the other evening and took Debbie with me. As it's not unusual for her to go with me, it is for her to go out to the pilot's station. I was flying my giant super sportster. It has a Syssa 30cc and at WOT it really gets with it. I was in the middle of an avalanche, snapped...

Here's another one. it's not permanently installed just yet, so I'll take it out and show you how I mounted it.

Here's a pic of the retract in the tail. The engineering on the mechanism is understandable but a little strange because one flange faces forward and the other to the rear. I had to come up with a unique way to install it since I used 1/4 inch plywood instead of 1/8th. I'll post some pics of...

I have a small set in a P-40 and they do work smoothly. I'm going to see if I can fix it without sending them back.

The retracts finally showed up!! And yes, we did have another discussion. Rather than just tell you about them, I thought I would show a video of the first operation.

Here's a couple of pics of the retracts. I just got a message from Robart that they have been shipped and are sceduled to be delivered this Saturday! I've not worked on the Mustang for a couple of days while waiting on these to arrive. As soon as they get here, I'm likely to go on a building...

Just got an update from Robart - they're going to ship my retracts on the 18th! In the mean time, I've been working on some of the details like the cowl hold down and getting shape of the front a little closer to right. I'll post some pics later this evening. Hope you enjoy them.

Thanks Eric. I've spent a lot of time lately measuring and trying to figure out what to do next.

Not yet. Supposedly, they're waiting on the tail wheel retract. Hopefully they'll show up next week. An employee named Eric said he would check and call me with a shipping date. He took my number, but never called. So I'm relegated to waiting.
