The maiden went very good! Plane flies great, engine ran with no problems. Had to make a couple of little adjustments but she started up and ran with no problems.

The plane is finished, I did the last of routing the wires to make it look nice and put the charging ports in. Finished it up and cranked the engine up. She cranks up so easy, but I think I may be on the lean side on the low end. When I come back to idle from wide open it takes about 10 seconds...

I want to ask some of you guys who fly this plane, where did you end up with the CG. I am going to start at 6" back from leading edge as the manual says, but just wondering how far back most of you ended up. I have read a post that the IMAC flyers use 6 1/2" back. What is special to IMAC flying...

Here is a picture of the instrument panel I put in, also a little thing I do is put soda straws over the needle valve mixture screws . On this model I made a bracket to put on the firewall to support the straws. Then I make small hole in the cowl just big enough for the straws to stick through...

    Starting a new DLE-61

I started the engine yesterday after find a screwdriver that would let me get to that big screw, gas came flying up the line to the carb. I put the choke on and after about 7 flips she popped. Choke off and 3 flips she was running like a champ. I ran it for I guess 10 minutes, never had to touch...

I sent Eric an apology email, nothing that happened was his fault. I told him about how mad I was that I guess I was trying to blame someone other than me for the screw up. I did order 2 more decals from him with the correct spelling. He has a great product and I told him so.---Smitty

I made a big mistake, when I ordered the decals I misspelled Specktrum, I spelled it Spectrum. It was my fault, but I would think Someone at B&E would have caught it and said hey wait a minute this isn't right. I have told the same thing to Eric in a email. Any ideas on how to get them off. I am...

I guess you are right about the Ken doll, he would get lost in that big canopy. May have to bite the bullet and pay for one of those high priced pilot bust. Thanks for following the thread, I am very pleased with the way it has turned out. The only bad thing I have found about the plane is the...

I am going to put a pilot and dashboard in the plane. About the wires I think they are rubbing a little but not to the point of opening the exit hole. I may have to deal with that problem. Going to start the engine up today and then work on the dashboard. I think I will try a Ken doll for the...

Here is the last of the work on the outside, still need to build a instrument panel for the decal I got from B&E. But the outside is finished. Tomorrow I am going to get the engine fired up and set, then need to balance the plane mount the batteries and clean up the wiring to make it look neat...

    Starting a new DLE-61

Ok I need to do something different. I put a Pitts style muffler on and it is impossible to get to that screw with a screwdriver with a big blade to loosen the screw. What about injecting gas into the carb and trying to start the engine, shouldn't that be good enough to wet that diaphragm.---Smitty

Ok, thanks. I have never had that problem before, I have 3 other gas engines and they suckered the gas right off the bat. I will give it a try. ---Smitty

    Starting a new DLE-61

Hey guys, I was going to crank up the engine on the Sukhoi yesterday, filled the tank up- choked the engine but when I propped it over I never got it to draw gas in the line to the carb. I tried to blow through the vent line to push gas to the carb. But gas never went into the line to the carb...
