    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

Major development on the Hangar 9 300X. Today I was contacted be Ali Machinchy the developer of the airplane. He is going to replace the entire thing. I can't tell you how happy this makes me. :brian-banana::brian-banana::brian-banana::brian-banana: He wants to pick one out of stock and check it...

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

I'll probably try it the way it is, but I won't know until I see what kind of shape it's in after FedEx gets done kicking it around on the trip back. My experience with FedEx has not been very good over the years. It could be broke in half before it gets here. I can only imagine what a pain in...

Scale 50cc Scratch Build From My Own Design Revisited

The weather forecast for last Sunday was bad so I didn't get anything ready to fly. The all day rain that was forecast turned out to be about 10 minutes here. This Sunday is supposed to be hot and windy, but I guess we'll see. I would really like to fly this thing. Tonight I changed the...

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

You just hit the nail on the head as far as I'm concerned. What happened under that wing sheeting to cause the lump? Is it something structural? Is it safe? It's probably not going to snap off in flight, but why would they take the risk? Obviously they didn't care what I was going to say here on...

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

From what I take from my phone conversation a couple of weeks ago with Doug B. from Horizon the guy in charge of this project is Ali Machinchy. He was going to show the wing to him, so I'm guessing he's the designer more or less. The cowl can't move back and the hatch is where it needs to be...

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

Here are some of the pictures I sent Horizon initially. This is the hump in the bottom of the left wing below the wing tube. It doesn't show up very well in photos, but it's very obvious in person. I've had a couple other guys I trust look at it and they all agree with me that it's pretty bad...

I'll post the pictures I have later tonight, and when the wing gets back here I'll try and take a video of it.

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

Well here it is, the final response from Horizon about my left wing. It's pretty much what I expected after the conversations I've had with them up to this point. Doug, Sorry for the late response but unfortunately the Designer was away on business until today. We had him inspect the wing for...

    GSN GIVE-A-WAY Hangar 9 35% Extra 300X Assembly

Well still no word from Horizon. They've had my wing since last Wednesday. I'll try calling again tomorrow and see what happens. I was checking out the fuel tank tonight. They mount this one behind the wing tube which is kind of odd, but from everything I've read they work fine there. My...

    Rave Duralite Batteries

I had to send a Li-Ion with a balance board back to them for service, because some idiot, ME, grabbed the charge lead with a tweezers trying to route it thru a bulkhead and grabbed the connector right where the terminal sides are exposed. Well, that let the sacred smoke out and fried the...

    3D JAG's 35% Carden Edge

Our club has some pipes driven in the ground that you slide conduit wrapped with a pool noodle in. Very quick and easy to use. With a wider spacing it works great on the wings too.

The 'What did you do in your workshop tonight?' thread

It makes me wonder just how old the saying "Nickel and Dime you to death" is since everything now hundreds you to death. :lol2:

    Finally got a trailer...

I knew I had a picture of Tony's Carf SU-31 in his truck. He was in front of me in a drive thru one day after flying.

    Finally got a trailer...

Mine are mostly 50-60cc, but I'll be hauling my 120cc Extra this year. My flying buddy Tony hauls his 3 meter Su31 Sukhoi in a F150 with a super short bed. It hangs past the open tailgate, but it's never been an issue.
