    Need a good laugh today

For those who have ever had or will ever have a Colonoscopy, here is Billy Connolly's fantastic standup routine on the subject.  I have seen this several times and still has me laughing to tears.   http://vimeo.com/24340828

Wow, that guy is one piece of work.....

That is pretty chicken $hit.  After reading your post it was all about the Hangar 9 Sukhoi flyers getting shirts, not at all about promoting another site.

    Prop Bolt Torque

Is that on a laminated prop?  I could never get that on a 4-bolt beechwood.  Lams did not compress as much for me.   Yes Zoar laminated is pretty much all I run Laminated props while not as stiff as carbon can take more torque than beech without crushing.  After that beech I was...

    Prop Bolt Torque

Size of prop and displacement of motor make much of a determining factor in torque values? Torque is more about the screw diameter and class of bolt.  Keep in mind that there are basic number values then it can get real complicated  even thread lubricant.   Just use a basic chart but it looks...

    Muffler Info

I did not run smoke and I put a 3/4" section of silicone that I slipped a small screw down in the tube and wire tied at both ends.  It never came off nor leaked.

    Prop Bolt Torque

I still do and probably not necessary.  For wood I use 30 in/lbf, any more and the wood compresses.  Carbon I use 50 in/lbf.  I remember when I first got my DA60 I followed the manual recommendation of 75 in/lbf for a wood prop and it always seemed to loosen up so I would tighten it...

    Prop bolts....what's the consensus?

The actual general rule in engineering is the engagement should be equal to or greater than one times the dia. of the fastener.      But the common sense rule of thumb is two times the dia. for fasteners under load.      In our case we have load and vibration so I would never fly with 1/4" of...

    Prop bolts....what's the consensus?

I buy a box of 20 from Fastenal or McMaster and always weight them to exact weight batches for use.  I do not change out on a frequency but I do from time to time.  Thread depth should always be at least 2x thread diameter so 1/4" is not enough. 5mm screw x2 = 10mm (0.393").  I always use a...

    Tuning a DLE40 twin

You could try and let it idle the same period of time that it takes to taxi out and see if you can duplicate it in run up to confirm.
