    Aerobeez 90" Extra 330SC (50cc)

Mine is going on the bench in the next week or so, but I am using a EME-60 on RE2, so my data will not be very relevant. I could try the 23x9 Falcon I just ordered and limit the RPM to get a comparison, but that will be a very long ways away. Lots of other projects in the way.

12S power systems ideas and options

Just for comparison the DA-60 on a pitts muffer is about 5.6 hp. With the RE2 tuned pipe we get about 7 hp. It looks like the DA-70 is getting around those same numbers as the pipe setup with more low grunt. Electric will still win in the torque contest and noise. Looking at that chart the...

    Inexpensive servos is today's market

My order of these show up today. They tested around 415-420 oz-in on our tester. I am going to try them in the Aerobeez 330SC. https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=50468 These will have zero support beyond maybe DOA so I ordered a spare. At least with the XQ...

    35CC 3D Plane

I worked on my Velox today. Setup the new wing I got to replace the one from the video. My repair job was just not that great as the new hinges did not line up. Took a bit of work to get them out. I would not recommend changing them. I ordered a new prop for it the other day, and it is...

    35CC 3D Plane

Here is the video I referred to earlier. They are using a Syssa, but I believe it's weight is similar to the DLE-30. He built a battery tray system for the tail to get CG. There are a number of DLE-30 Velox's out there, it just takes a little effort on the balance front...

    35CC 3D Plane

This was just a little over the gallon point. I can't remember if I had switched to my usual gas, or was still using my break in stuff. Since I have not run the motor a lot and figured out the perfect prop, I have not talked much about the motor. IF the motor continues to perform and I can...

    Extreme Flight Owners Thread

That is a good point. Most of my stuff 30cc and up has metal arms, but I did use Dubros on my 60 Laser with my BK servos. I have some good quality Savox arms that I should use instead.

    New Here? Introduce yourself!

That's Gary's 91 EF Extra. The canopy support are farther back and it is open inside, no cockpit. you can' pull this off with some of the 3DHS planes. I have a similar arrangement in my 104 Extra and 78 Extra.

    New Here? Introduce yourself!

There is a thread on that very topic! http://3drcforums.com/showthread.php?2058-12S-power-systems-ideas-and-options Basically we are talking Hacker A60-8S or 7S or the lower wind Motrolfly 4330s. Aeroplayin just published a report a few days ago on his experiences with the 7S on another...

    Discussion Choosing an air frame----frustrations!

There is a learning curve with gas airplanes, just like glow. Engine tuning and proper setup involves some time investment. I can build an electric ARF in half the time of a gasser because of all the engine setup stuff, plus all the additional wiring (IBEC, ignition module, RPM telemetry)...

    3DHS 70" Velox

Here is a video from last fall I finally got around to uploading. It ends kind of interestingly. I fixed it afterwards and eventually just got a new wing as my repair was not the best. RCGF 26BM motor. Still in the trial stage as I have not found my happy prop yet...

    35CC 3D Plane

I talked to Ben about what it takes for the DLE-30 to work. He is the one who said to build the fuel tank above the spar. I know I can get more speed out my current velox as that 18x6 was not enough prop. 18x8 is currently on it. Jury is still out on it. Maybe 17x8 or 18x7. My new 74 edge...

    Discussion Choosing an air frame----frustrations!

With electric, I think the Velox is a great choice. 4325-425 with 6S 5000 seems like a real winner and should get decent flight time. The Extras would want the 4330 and would have a little less flight time unless you went with 6000s or a 8s setup. Gas setups I would pick the Extra. Now if...

    35CC 3D Plane

The GT15 is a pumped glow type engine. I have not run mine yet. The GT22 is quiet, but has the on/off throttle response the DLE-20 has. Also heavy. The GT33 is amazing. The did something to get the throttle to be very linear, only about 91 db at 20 feet, and puts out decent power. We get...

    35CC 3D Plane

In my video you can hear me talking about the GT22 on that very Velox. It has slightly more power than the DLE, weights more, and cost only $10 less than the GT33. I sold that motor. It is stupid quiet though. Low 80s on the DB meter.

    35CC 3D Plane

It is very difficult to get a canister to work in the Velox. The fuse is just too small. If noise is a issue, then get a O.S. GT33. It's muffler is very effective, unlike all the other ones out there.
