    Discussion Choosing an air frame----frustrations!

EF has not gone to Toledo in many years, so unless you pick one up in the swap shop (highly unlikely), you are not going to see one there. 3DHS on the other hand will be there in full force I believe. I got to fly my 78 a few times this weekend and is sure does fly bigger than most 30cc...

    35CC 3D Plane

The thing with the DLE-30 in the Velox is that you have to build it just right to get it to balance. Somewhere on the RCG thread there is a great video where one was built as a raffle prize and the builder went through all the things he did to get the 30 to work. rudder servo in the tail, fuel...

    3DHS 70" Velox

I talked to them at WRAM about this specific problem and they claimed the beta software they had out there seemed to be working. For my large Q80 I used a Scorpion HV ESC, which only worked on one timing setting. I talked to Joe Smith at the time as he was having problems with the Castle HV...

Why not get a Gecko? I sold all my ICE 100s last season. They have proven to work with the 28 pole hackers. I used a Hobbywing Platinum 100 with my A60-6XS. http://www.altitudehobbies.com/ztw-gecko-esc/ztw-gecko-series-125a-brushless-esc-w-8a-adjustable-sbec...

I hope the Crack Turbo Beaver I have with the quad flaps will be a great ice breaker. It looks like a circle flyer, but it is so much more.

    3DHS 108" Extra 330LT

Andy I know you are going to get this question a thousand times. Have you had a chance to fly the EF 104" Extra, and how does it compare? I know Ben and Chris have a little different formula and this plane seems to be lighter.

My Visionaire lives in my trailer for those times when you don't feel like risking your bigger planes. I am not sure how many times I almost planked it doing stupid rolling maneuvers too close to the ground. The Crack Pitts on 3S is a pretty good windy day flyer. I have a machine from the...

    78'' Extra

We talked about moving to socal a few years ago before buying this house. Even though you get wonderful weather, our quality of life would be much lower living out there making less money and paying twice as much in housing and probably triple in taxes. The 21x10 I have is a PT, which is...

I wanted to do my usual low level hovering yesterday, but I was doing backward harrier flight instead. Kind of weird having the plane fall in a straight line towards you with the tail pointing at your head.

    60" Laser-EXP

Those are for the wing bolts. There are tabs in the wings that go over those holes and you use I believe a M4 bolt to attach the wings. One of the very cool features of this design. They are also used in the 104" Extra.

    35CC 3D Plane

I have owned all 4 of the current 3DHS 30cc planes. If you want to go gas, go with the Edge or the 330SC. I have had both a electric and gas slick. The electric was 10 lbs and my gasser is 11.5. It makes a huge difference in the way this plane flies. Tyler also had a porker gasser Slick and...

There is a blurb about flying in wind in the Scott Stoops book on RC Aerobatics. Even he put it, that at certain point it is just not fun anymore. Can I fly a model in 25 mph winds? Yes, but I don't enjoy it. Darren and I have been the only two flying at our club in what I would consider...

I am not referring to stabilization, I am referring to the hold modes. I agree it has no place in competition. That stabilizer in my Funcub made that plane so much more fun as it is pretty small. James, one of the hosts on the RC Today show put a BeastX in some foam 50"ish planes from...

    78'' Extra

I got 3 flights on mine this Saturday. We had to fly off a frozen lake facing the sun, but that is life in the Shire. This airplane is so freaking stable, it never scared my out of practice fingers. I almost tried the 21x10 on her. Just plain ran out of time before work.

    74" Edge 540

The 78 seems to have more inlet area as well. I will be paying close attention to you two as my 74 will likely have the same issue with my flying style that you are having.

    74" Edge 540

Here is what I had in the Yak. Lots of frontal area I guess made it a non-issue.
