    Gp-61

Yep, just the slang we use when talking about them. I can't ever remember blazing star for some reason.

Do the gravy mounts not work on the GP? I use then on my DAs and EME.

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

That is so true! It was almost 80 here on Monday, working on the trailer in a T-shirt. Woke up this morning to a layer of snow.

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

I think a 21-22" prop is more appropriate for this size airframe. you would need to run a 3 blade on a DA-60 to get that small and that is loosing efficiency. This is a lot like people putting DA-85s into the EF 91" Extra. I personally like the idea of getting 8-9 minutes out of a electric...

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

The DA-60 is actually lighter than the 50. Weight distribution would be a issue as with the electric you can locate the batteries more aft. For gas I would probably just do the VVRC-40 or a piped DA-35/DLE-35RA/EME-35/GT33. I really want a large electric again, especially now that I will have...

One is installed by the front door to the left. You can see it in one photo. I will get a second one for the ramp.

    78'' Extra

You need to lower your end point. Sub trim moves where center is, not where the ends are.

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

Maybe this will become the 12S 5300 purpose built electric I was wishing for. My 12s 3300 system might have to just go in the new AJL or some other plane in the future.

    Extreme Flight 76/83" MXS

Here is an update from the Boss from the RCG thread. "The big MXS was the star of the event for us. In its final form it spans 76 inches without tips and 85 inches with them. The earlier incarnation was just too floaty and not aggressive enough and the new wing has allowed it to perform just as...

    Trailers, Toy Haulers, Etc!

Lovemyxtra did all the wood work. I think he just measured and trial fitted over an over again. I did see a tip on the 8 million post long FG thread about using some scrap piece 4x8 foam material like wall insulation and making the template out of that. We installed a 110 exterior plug I...

    35CC 3D Plane

When I am stuck using a solid pushrod, I use the Dubro servo arms as they have more flex than the stock hitec arms. All my linkages are either metal clevis or ball links. I don't think I have used nylon on any gassers, but they are on some glow stuff of mine. I would have to look through the...

    Trailers, Toy Haulers, Etc!

Some pictures from today. Picked the trailer up from Patrick with the front cabinets mostly done. Still looking for latches for the front cabinets. You would not believe how hard that is. The bevel is proving to be a issue. Anyway installed Gladiator track system on the right wall and the EZ...

    35CC 3D Plane

If any mini servo is going to hold up, it is the 7245. It does save some weight up front. you can always change it later. If it is a pull type throttle you can use golden rod as your pushrod to increase vibration dampening.

    3DHS 70" Velox

I'd post the video, but you would be cursing at the angle. You can see a little of it's speed in pop tops. It might get parked for a while as Nall prep is going to consume me for weeks. Just got my 104 and 110 out of storage. Flying days are still rare up here as April is the month of wind...

12S power systems ideas and options

I did not get chance to ask him about the combo as far as power and flight time. We briefly talked about it and I mentioned how I wanted to use a 8S on a 12s setup. He was using that because he must have a zillion batteries for pattern.

If you can, I would go with a standard size throttle servo. Mini servos are infamous for burning up when used for that application. 5665MH are my goto servo for this. I am going to try a HK 15298 in my Aerobeez budget build and I have a Savox Gyro recommended for my Redwing when that comes in.

12S power systems ideas and options

I will wait and see for a little longer for you to get data back on the 8S, but it is sounding like that 4330-195 is a good choice for my particular setup. I am looking at getting a spare Blade 550X kit as they are marked down and I can use that survey coupon. I would sell the BeastX in it...

12S power systems ideas and options

How does the 4330-206 run on the 21x10? I also see Ken has a 195kv option on this motor as well. I am setting up a Pilot Sbach electric for my A60-6XS, but maybe I should use it as a test bed for these setups. It will be stupid over powered on 12S.

    35CC 3D Plane

What I have started to do is to setup my throttle just like that chart you found, then fly it and see how I like it. If I start to do the throttle curve I get the tach out. Find peak RPM. Get out the prop calculator I got from Pe Reivers to find out how much thrust that is. For you it...

    3DHS 70" Velox

Got some good flights on the Velox today. The video did not come out as I am using a new hatcam and it was pointed too high. The 18x7 is a great combo with this motor and I don't see dinking around with it anymore. I was 9lbs 7oz AUW with fuel. I will try to remember to get RPM next time out...
