    60" Laser-EXP

I also have a AS3xtra which has some of those hold modes and I think you can configure it in torque roll mode to essentially do autorollers. It sounds like the Cortex is very similar to the modes that I have in that little indoor plane. I setup a HK stabilizer 2 years ago in my funcub. It...

    74" Edge 540

I don't have a heat issue with my 78 Extra install. I just opened up the last panel in the tunnel. Just flew it hard for 3 flights yesterday, granted it was only 50 degrees. The pilot Yak 54 had just the bottom of the cowl opened up as I originally had it on a GT33. My Edge is nearing...

    60" Laser-EXP

I flew my Visionaire a lot last year with AS3X. This sort of thing only appeals to me in a 48" type plane. I have steered away from this class because it is just so limited with any sort of wind compared to my bigger stuff. I just flew my Laser on a windy day last week and it does not need a...

    3DHS 70" Velox

You will find pretty good reviews of the ZTW Gecko series. I run a few 85A ones, but I plan on getting a HV one for my 12S airplane. http://www.altitudehobbies.com/ztw-gecko-esc/ztw-gecko-series-125a-brushless-esc-w-8a-adjustable-sbec...

    Extreme Flight Owners Thread

The solar 658s were a disaster! Slow and poor centering. The spektrum 5040s were so so. 5060s were bad. Scary jitter. Like I said, 7245s are the only decent choice I have found for the money. Redwing had a sale on them a few weeks ago.

They are standard size servos. They won't fit in the 64. I had trouble getting in the BK servos. There is not enough meat to install that size. I have tried a few alternative mini servos and there really is no decent alternative to 7245s, especially at the power levels you way to fly.

    New Here? Introduce yourself!

Here you go https://www.aero-model.com/8_62_869/Brushless-Motors_Hacker-Brushless-Motors-A100-A200-Series/A200-8.html You would have to do 14S I would think. I personally think large electric is more dangerous than getting a DA-170. There are a lot of places to electrocute yourself with...

    The 3DRCForums -Discuss Anything Thread-

I flew to PIT yesterday, so I got a double dose of this particular storm. We might get to fly off the frozen lake on Saturday if the forecast holds. Darn this job that keeps me up here. At least it funds my hobby.

We are in the middle of a snow storm with 40 mph winds. We might not get to fly outside till we travel to the Nall at this rate.

    Servo bench testing

Because of the impending snow storm Vulcan, we got together and did some testing on the new servo and a Savox 2231. TGY-3509MG got 420 oz-in Savox 2231 got 460 oz-in Now with the two big Savox the whole rig is moving so they probably put out more than that. The mouse trap still needs...

    Aerobeez 90" Extra 330SC (50cc)

That is probably the motor that is going on this with a RE2 I have laying around. The EME-70 is anther possibility, but that cowling bolt thing turns me off to this. Choice 3 is my GT60, but that plane needs to fit in my truck and I still think the redwing slick is a better choice in...

Aerobeez 90" Extra 330SC (50cc) Here is the wing comparison with the 89 slick and 92 edge. Aileron area is similar. The 3dhs ones are fatter at the room and taper where the aerobeez is a constant 4.5 inches. Wing roots are 20 on the AB, 21 on the slick, and 22 on the edge. Tips are 10...

Mine just arrived at the house. No shortage of elevator authority. This is my 92 edge for comparison.

On my 92 cut outs it would not work. You would have to make special ones.

One of the team 3DHS pilots is posting in this thread I started at FG. http://www.GiantScaleNews.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88751 I should get to see it and maybe get to fly the prototype that Steve McCormick has up here. We are still buried in snow and storm Vulcan is bringing more to us...

    What 3D Champion Fly's What?

As I said earlier, general hobby just imports stuff. They don't do the internal R&D that the other players do. This means that their designs typically are older designs that other companies discontinued. I know the price tag looks better, but I would be very surprised if their performance...

    Aerobeez 90" Extra 330SC (50cc)

The cowling bolt tells me just say no to a twin in this plane. No way you would get the flex driver in there without a special cutout for it.

    What 3D Champion Fly's What?

I too would like to have a nice Sukhoi, but not a single one has even been described to me as a good 3D plane. Most of the general hobby planes are recycled older designs, with maybe a new scheme. For example, their Ravens appear identical to the EG ones I had 2 years ago. This is why they...
