    Is your carb pulse port in direct air flow? If so, you may want to either try to install a 90 degree intake horn or solder a nipple onto the front pump cover and run a line into the fuse.

    Sounds like you are a little heat soaked. 310F really isnt bad, it isnt good either. Air exit should be around 3x greater than air inlet size. If you have a can tunnel in the airplane, open it up to allow air to escape. Doing a plug check will yell you if your H needle is too lean. You say...

    Probably not a bad idea to check them all. I've even seen a loose exhaust manifold cause a hanging idle too. Does it sound like it should?

    Cool man. Give yourself more time with MonoKote. It takes a little more "working" time with it, but the techniques between MonoKote and UltraCote covering are all the same. When you get done with this, you'll be like, damn, I like this! :)

    My QS 150 did the same thing, but I heard a small pop on a fly by 2 years ago. Pulled throttle back to idle, and it just hung there. Then it came down. Started looking things over, and found a cylinder head gasket was pushed out on the front side. Air leaks will cause havoc on idles.

    Are you doing any wood prep, besides sanding? If not, some cheap hairspray and then hit it again with 220 grit. I really don't see any advantage by going finer grit for a finish sand. Then vacuum your parts and then tack rag it. Then lay your covering down and tack it down. I like around...

    Only other reason I can see on breaking prop bolts is them loosening up in flight, ie not tight enough. On my 106 engines, I have not run wood prop carbon spinner combo. I only have run the carbon carbon combo. But if a wood prop carbon backplate works on a 150 and up engine, I dont see why...

    Getting Kids involved in RC?

    My thing is to expose my son to it, and let him decide if he wants to do this or not. I dont want to push him into doing something he doesnt want to do. Im not going to be a pushy parent in wanting him to follow in my footsteps with a hobby.
