    3W 220 CS

Yes and no. You have to cut the firewall back quite a bit for that monster quad. You would for sure not have a lack of power. But, I will say, the 3W 220 is going to be about 4# heavier than the 170. If it were me, I would stick the 220 in a 124" Carden Pro or a Dalton 300, for kit built...

    Share your Trailer Ideas Here

A buddy of mine is wanting to do the work on my trailer. So, Im gonna let him have at it. He needs something to do, with being laid off work right now. He works highway construction in Ohio, and is currently shut down by the state due to weather. So, gonna deliver it to his parents rental...

    Logic mixes with JR XG14

I read somewhere that on a Futaba 14 MZ, I think, that someone had that same condition configuration you are looking for. I forget what the extent of the details are, but the outcome was not pretty. I believe he lost a really nice Composite airframe....... I believe that he went into...

    Thrust, questions, engine mounting.....

You can move the engine up or down. It wont change how it rolls on that X axis. It wont even change the pitch on Y axis, either. Ive done that alot, over the years of assembling ARFs for folks. I can live with 1/16" variance much better than I can with 1/4 or 3/8".

    Thrust, questions, engine mounting.....

That is one reason why I don' use those mounting templates. I drilled the first one, and it was off 3/8" to the cowl. Best thing to do is to hang the airplane from the wing tube between 2 ladders, place the engine on the firewall, place the cowl on, then use the spinner backplate to align...

    SOLD! !!!!

Smoother and cleaner. Plus, the downlines of the OMP, it doesn't try to pull out of the downline, like the Pilot does. There is a little evidence of it, but it's not like pulling elevator, which what the Pilot acts like it does, prior to mixing. EG really did their homework on the airfoils of...

SOLD! 3W157 with mufflers, 825.00 includes shipping

I know the feeling of having too much stuff sitting around. Wish I was in the market for a newer motor. 3W's are all I run.

    Frank Bowman rings low compression

That air leak will cause all sorts of issues. Poor top end, erratic idle, wont shut down with throttle trim. I blew a cylinder base gasket on my QS 150 a couple years back. I instantly lost some power, and I knew something was wrong. Went up for a dead stick landing (intentional), engine...

    Frank Bowman rings low compression

Tell us a bit more about engine set up? Prop, etc.... Needle settings really don't matter, as they vary with location. Has 9 hrs on it? Its hardly broken in. What year was the motor built? When you had the cylinders off, did you look inside them at the combustion chamber? How did they...

IMAC Dalton 300 ml build thread.

Some of those spring clips don't have enough tension to retain anything. I have used Tygon with much success, sometimes I don't use a tie wrap, sometimes I do. I have since then switched over to TDRC's fuel line. It is super tight going on. Saliva helps a little, but still not enough. So I...

IMAC Dalton 300 ml build thread.

Gravity. The fuel dots are lower than the fuel tanks. Longer fill lines and keeping the opening above the tank will keep from expelling fuel before you fill up. Or you could install some 1/8" check valves, fuel in, nothing out. Just what residual is in the line before the check valve. My...

    We're Doing Something Right!

We may not have the quantity of traffic that other places have, but we have quality content. :) Like Bart told me over the weekend at EFest.... Im going after quality over quantity. Also, having 3 sites for food, surely helps the appetite.
